We inherited one of these which was manufactured in the 1920's when my husband's aunt passed away. After figuring out what it was, I used it to open a jar one day and have been a huge fans ever since (I don't have arthritis, just small hands so tomato sauce sized jars are a challenge). When I was outfitting a kitchen for a vacation rental, I wondered if I would be able to find one like it. Yep here it is. It works just as well as our antique. I love that it doesn't require gripping hand strength to be applied to the lid. This tool does that for you.

People with arthritis might not be able to use this product. Jar opener mounted on solid surface would work better. I was able to open tight lids with little or no problems.

We used to use one of those battery operated jar openers. I threw it away after receiving this init. It works! we are senior citizens and my wife can now open jars. For the low cost and ease of use, if someone has trouble opening jars, then buy this

The opener really works. I tried this to open a pickle jar. The popping noise when the lid opens was a little bit startling. It's pretty handy,, much easier than using a manual opener.

Difficult to attach to jar. Slips off easily.

This is the absolute best gadget ever for opening jars, etc. Simple, extremely easy to use, inexpensive, and indispensable. I bought this for myself and liked it so much I bought several for friends.
