Love it, But Watch Out.
I'm a guy and so I wasn't as well versed or educated about skin care products as women my age are. I only found out about skin care regimens over a year ago (and I'm in my mid-20s approaching my late 20s). As a guy, I thought, solely washing my face was sufficient. I went to a esthetician for a microdermabrasion appointment, due to the hyperpigmentation after marks and she questioned me about what cleanser, exfoliator, moisturizer, etc., I was using. I was surprised at my lack of knowledge. I didn't know what any of those, aside from a cleanser, was for, including exfoliating products like this. So I did a little research about what an exfoliator, moisturizer, toner, etc. was, seen the high reviews for this product, and bought this. I gave it five stars because the beads provide the necessary function of an exoliator in cleansing away the dead skin cells on the surface (epidermis-outer layer) of the skin that cleansers don't efficiently or effectively handle. Plus, although it does contain chemicals, I'm far more concerned with utilizing chemical peel. I bought a glycolic acid peel on here, used it a couple of times, and despite reading the instructions, was concerned because I didn't know if I was doing it right. Chemical peels also exfoliate the skin, but can be very hazardous if you're not highly knowledgeable about what you're doing or if you're not being cared for by an expert-and there's no f'ing way I'm going to pay approximately $100-$200 a week solely for an exfoliation. The part you should be careful with when using this product, is when you use this against your face. I've had episodes, including now, where the jagged beads left a red/pink mark on my face. So when you're applying this to your face and scrubing your face, don't apply pressure to the beads because they'll also apply pressure to your skin. Just gently move the beads across your face, let it to the job for you. Let it scrape off the dead skin cells so that new and fresh ones become exposed and accessed. People like to discuss the smell of products. For me, how a product smells is almost of no value, unless it's unbearably pungent. I only care if a product is working properly and effectively for me. But the smell is pleasant. Now another important portion of this review, part of the reason that this item has gotten the attention and acclaim that it has, by reviewers, isn't only that it exfoliates the skin, but also due to the price of this item. Where exfoliaters are unreasonably exorbitant in price, this is generally priced sensibly at Walgreens and other retailers, approximately $3-$7, along with the Mint Julep face mask which also shares similar characteristics as this, from the amount of people who love the product to its affordable price point. I read articles to see how many times a week it was advisable to use this product and I've encountered many websites with diverse recommendations from every day to 3-4 times a week to once a week or two. For me, I try to use it twice a week or every 3-4 days when I feel that dirt and dead skin cells accumulate on my face. That should be a decent amount. You don't want to use it too much or not too often, because if you use it too much, you're not allowing the new and fresh skin to breathe, because you're constantly ridding it from your face, and as a result you will first notice that your skin will become dry and then dehydrated and also sensitive and inflamed, and if you wait for an extended period of time before you exfoliate your face, the oil, dirt and dead skin cells will accumulate and will result in breaking your face out with pimples. So, two times a week or once every 3-4 days for me. Overall, 5/5 for the product.

Great Product! Love the way my skin looks and feels.
I am frankly surprised at how much I like this product.I purchased it because another reviewer included this as a part of her daily and weekly skin care routine. I followed all her recommendations, and here is my take on these products:1. Dr. Woods Pure Black Soap: I like that it is thicker than Dr. Bronner's and doesn't seem as drying. Nice smell. The bottle is huge and will last a long time. A keeper.2. Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel: Really nice, pure rose scent. Not at all overpowering. Cleans my skin and gets all the last traces of dirt without drying. And really a good value for the money.3. She recommended Burt's Bees Radiance Lotion with Sunscreen as a day lotion. I opted not to try it as I already use and love Good 'N Natural Retinol Cream. Probably the best cream I have ever used and I have tried a *lot*. Another value for the dollar.4. I did, however, purchase Desert Essence 100% Jojoba Oil as a night treatment. It is fabulous! Not overly greasy....it is absorbed by the skin pretty quickly. The biggest plus is how my skin feels when I wake up the next morning. Amazingly soft and smooth. I really like this one and will continue to use and recommend.5. St. Ives Apricot Scrub: I purchased the jar as I thought it was more cost effective. The base of this scrub is very creamy and actually seems to soften the skin while cleansing. It exfoliates well. I use it 2 to 3 times a week. Marvelous!6. She also recommended Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask. I bought it, and it worked well. But I like to control the moisture level and thickness of masks, so I will stick with my tried an true European Clay Powder from Now Solutions. It is powder in a jar that you mix with water or oil and apply. Both work well....i just like having more control.7. I added Preparation H Cooling Gel as an undereye treatment. While kind of odd, it actually works. And it is far, far less expensive than the myriad of eye treatments I have tried and been disappointed with. Don't knock it till you've tried it!My last go-to skin care item is Vaseline Cocoa Butter Petroleum Jelly. It works on rough elbows and feet better than any other product I've tried.I've used a combination of these products for several weeks, and my skin is clear, soft, and glowing. And I didn't break the bank. Why spend more on products with hefty advertising and packaging costs when some mass-market drug store brands work better?

Beyond thankful!
I've had this product for two weeks now. I bought this product because I've tried so many things for my acne and cystic acne and nothing helps. I tried prescription medication (pills, medicated face pads, and cream). I've tried proactive, and a lot of over the counter stuff.I started using this product when it was cold and dry outside. I have very sensitive skin. And after using products I usually get very dry skin. I've gotten dry skin after just washing my face with dove sensitive bar of soap. The directions say to use 3-4 times a week. So I wanted to do it every other day. So the first day I used this product and my face felt so smooth. It felt soft without the oil. I used acnefree face mask the next day. And omg...the acne free face mask made my face so stiff and hurt. So I decided I was gonna break the every other day rule and do back to back days since I wanted the stiffness to go away. And again my face was smooth and soft. But I noticed some drying on my face. Bad for when using makeup and bad in general because moisturizers make me break out big time. The 3rd day I decided to use a small portion size on the spots I usually get cystic acne(skin) and I used it on the sides of my face, nose and forehead. And from that day on I was gonna use it every other day. And my acne has improved. No more cystic acne. I usually get 3-4 per month, and they take a while to go away leaving only 3-4 days without them and then their back.I have a 24 year old female. I don't can't use B.C. so I have never been able to get my hormones under control. I am an animal lover so of course that means dander, drool and hair near my face. I'm very light skinned and scar easily. So having something that helps is a blessing.I do still get acne. I love chocolate so of course. Lol. But they are tiny and heal within 3-4 days which is great.

Happy
I bought this jar instead of the tube because the tube kept collecting water inside the tube opener which sometimes caused mould. The jar is exactly the same product as the tube and it's perfect at doing its job. Lovely smell and I love how I can see how much content is left inside. I will be able to use all the content unlike the tube, which is going to save some money!

Description lies-does not contain salicylic acid
It's a great product for scrubbing away dead skin cells but the whole reason I bought it was because of the 2% salicylic acid it boasts in the description:'Product DescriptionAmerica's #1 Scrub brand*, this scrub with 2% salicylic acid gently cleans pores and helps stop breakouts before they occur. Product Benefits:100% Natural Exfoliants, Paraben Free, Oil Free, Dermatologist Tested and its Hypoallergenic'It does not have this in.If you want this, don't get this scrub. Otherwise, very nice texture and abrasive qualities.
