Would have been great but it is nearly impossible to remove the old parts off the cartridge, I suggest purchasing the TA-10, to replace the entire thing. There’s a seat deep inside that the washers close against, to replace that you’ll need special tools but it’s rare one needs to replace that part.

Fit was perfect and 3 months later we have no leaky shower faucets! Buy this kit!

I have a 25 year old symmons shower valve that started to drip a little when shut off. The original washers had basically disintegrated, so it was definitely time to replace them. Note that for very old valves that have seen lots of use, you might need to replace the brass seats as well.

Shower was dripping all night...research suggested this set of seals to stop the drips.. It Did!...AFTER fussing for a bit to get the older set out. The retaining ring which screws onto the control shaft (and wasn't obvious that it screwed on) was rusted on, but a shallow cut or two with a hack saw allowed me to 'peel' the older retainer away preserving the threads so the new ring could screw right on. Stopping the drips should help the shower dry which should help minimize the mold that grows on the ceiling... be brave...go for it!!

I was going to just change the seals and washer but decided (with a twenty year old valve) to do a complete rebuild. Came out beautiful! I have the same valve downstairs, no problem with that one yet, so I'll save the kit for that one.

Came with everything needed except the 5 ft wrench you need to break that collar loose to remove the valve after getting the valve out replacing the washers was very easy would have been nice if the retaining nut was brass like the original instead of Steel which will probably rust away but fixed my 40-year-old valve it stopped the leaks and works perfectly

They fit well but the rubber seems a bit harder then it should be. Makes it difficult for them to seat well againsts the seats.
