decent item, some pegs were missing, and to make really nice bracelets requires the purchase of additional tools
I wear a lot of bangle bracelets and I have recently become interested in doing more wire work, so this seemed like a perfect item for me. I am not sorry I bought it, but to really make full use of it, I am going to have to buy a lot more stuff -- it is just not going to be possible for me to create quality, long-lasting bracelets using only what came in this package. (For the record, this review is from the perspective of someone new to wire work. If you have been working with wire for a long time, you may already have all the additional materials required, or you may have an alternate technique you can use to solve the same problems. I, however, don't have that advantage.)The jig, itself, is a pretty sturdy plastic and I don't have an issue with it. The pegs fit in it pretty well and don't move (much) once they're in place. I did receive a bag of pegs and a bag of stoppers, but I got a few more stoppers than pegs, first of all, and second of all, there really aren't enough pegs if you want to do anything other than have them skipping spaces and placed in only two rows of holes. I think I was missing a few. Also, for what it's worth, some storage would be appreciated. The baggies for the pegs and stoppers are not resealable and there's no good place to put them. You will need some sort of box or tray and possibly some plastic baggies to store the pegs and stoppers.I found wrapping the wire pretty easy; I was using 20 gauge wire since I had it on hand and, for me, this was a nice compromise between workability and staying formed once removed from the jig. I was able to use my hands, primarily, to work with it, though perhaps I would've had neater results if I'd been using pliers. (I am just using coated copper; copper is my preferred metal anyway.)There are some pretty detailed instructions that come with this, with lots of close-up photos. These are appreciated. However, it becomes apparent as you read them that you are going to need a lot more tools and time to create professional-looking pieces. First off, you may notice that once you form the wire loops around the pegs, there's nothing really stopping them from being stretched out/deformed as you wear the bracelet, work it further, or adjust it to be the proper size. (For what it's worth, you *can* make smaller bracelets than 2 3/4 inch diameter bracelets by not going all the way around and then squeezing the bracelet into a smaller size.) Anyway, what you do to keep the loops in place -- at least according to the manual -- is some wire wrapping. Now, the end results look really nice; the sample bracelet is lovely and I do hope to be able to make something like that some day. However, you may be wondering what to do with the ends of the wire you wrap to stabilize the loops with? Surely you don't want something sharp (which is what most wire cutters and flush cutters will generate, since they sort of crush wire as they cut) that close to your skin. And the instructions suggest getting a special tip for another (battery operated) tool to grind the wire down so it isn't sharp (the tool is a bead reamer, also from Beadalon, and the tip is a "wire rounder burr attachment" -- both are available on Amazon). Great, but that involves an additional expenditure. I do feel the additional expenditure is necessary because I don't want to poke or scratch myself (or someone else) or snag and ruin any clothing, you know?I suppose this would be a problem with any wire jig, and I probably should have known. My wire experience thus far has pretty much been limited to a Coiling Gizmo so I am new at this. (For what it's worth, if you don't have some basic pliers and wire cutters, you will need those too. I did already have those, and some of the economy sets available on Amazon are pretty good.)

Moderate Craft Jig-Buy More Pegs!
Plastic, will hold the pegs. I bought a lot of auxillary pegs-I know from other jigs you can never have too many. I suggest you purchase more at the time you purchase this jig.To do an alternate stagger for a loopy bracelet you will get just enough if you don't make it continuous. To do that you need 22 pegs. If you have a Thingamajig, those pegs fit these holes a little loosely. The pegs for this will NOT fit Thingamajig, they are too large.I did put it promptly to work and it is lightweight enough. Pegs do like to work loose, pay attention to that. Some patterns if you wind tight enough and are continuous you may have to pull the tubing and pull the pins to get it off. The tubing can be difficult to put on the pegs to secure them.Heavy duty use this isn't for. In that case I'd build my own permanent jig... I do find it reasonable to use with a little experimentation and run one wire on it first as a practice before doing your 'good stuff'.

Not enough pegs
Like a lot of how to products, they help you out by not including enough pegs. So you have to spend more money on the extras. Want enough pegs, order an extra set, it raises the price but you will need them.

Great idea for creating bangle bracelets without the struggle of shaping them in a perfect circle. Very helpful, build to last. I look forward to years of use. Every tool I have purchased from Beadalon has been very high quality, without having to pay the high quality price!! They have been in business for years because of their quality in beads, Jewelry supplies, wire, and tools! You can't lose if you buy Beadalon products!!

Definitely a keeper!!!!
Now this is definitely a keeper!! Love jewelry jigs and just recently sent for this one as well as another. The other jig is going back, but this is one I shall keep and use a lot! I love making quick, but pretty jewelry for charities and the sky is the limit with this one. So many ways to use it whether for bracelets or even pendants. Love this thing!!! I think I shall order the different size pegs giving me even more options. Worth every penny!

Thanks
The price isn’t bad. But I found out I prefer just wire working with out this. I bought two, one for my niece for Christmas. Hope she enjoys it.

A great product for all jewellery maker's
This is a really great product I have made loads of expandable bangles which have gone down very well with the friends I've made them for, I would of liked more patterns for different styles of bracelet as you only get instructions for 1 zig zag bracelet so had to search the web for more but this tool is very quick and easy to use and gives great results every time, I think this is a must have for all jewellery maker's
