More ecological sermon than cookbook
I really wanted to like this book, and there's definitely some good material here.... but the endless lecturing about the evils of raising livestock for consumption was extremely irritating. If I wanted to buy and read a book about that issue, I would have done so. I bought a cookbook and what I got was an ecological sermon.Edit: I’m updating my review to 4 stars. Once you get past the lecturing in the beginning of the book, it’s actually quite engaging and I’ve already used the book several times very successfully. For someone with almost 2000 cookbooks, that’s saying a lot.

Salty Sodium Bomb
Cookbook has great photos, which I like. The recipes are more complicated than normal, so you'll need a trip or two to specialty stores to stock up.Why two stars off? The sodium content of these recipes is quite high--higher than most. So if you're watching your salt intake for health reasons, or read "Salt Sugar Fat" and are keeping your salt addiction to a minimum, this book isn't for you.

YOU NEED ALL THIS FLAVOR!!
Eating your vegetables has never been tastier! Even my junk-food-loving husband is already a fan. Whether you’re dipping your toe into meatless meals or just want some more YUM in your life, do yourself a favor and BUY THIS BOOK. Umami Bomb is chock full of easy to follow and execute recipes that are insanely delicious! Pro tip: put the chile-soy sauce from the Brussels sprouts recipe on EVERYTHING (yes, including Brussels sprouts). You won’t regret it!

Best Vegetarian Cookbook for Carnivores!
Amazing cookbook! My wife and I are always looking for good vegetarian recipes to offset a carnivorous diet deep-rooted from farm-based upbringing. While we love cookbooks such as Plenty, there are often esoteric ingredients we don't have in our pantry. Umami Bomb is perfect, as the recipes are relatively simple and the ingredients are readily found in most home kitchens (just make sure you stock up on white miso paste, nutritional yeast, and decent soy sauce).Miso-based pasta and cookies are our new favorites! You will not regret this purchase. Every recipe is perfect. Umami=satiety

Great if you have a teen/young adult vegetarian in the family
I have many vegetarian cookbooks but this is the only one that really appeals to my almost 18 year old vegetarian. Most of recipes are simple enough that a relatively new cook could handle them. The way the book is set up, there is a umami packing ingredient featured in each chapter and is used in a variety of recipes. We especially like the roasted tomatoes and the recipes with them.

Great way to transition from meat-based diets
After putting up with me for 3 years after I went completely plant-based and viewing Game Changers, my husband decided to take the plunge and go (mostly) plant-based. As a foodie, his biggest fear in doing so was giving up on great flavors - this book has filled in that spot for him extremely well. He's tried several recipes, including Bomb Sauce and Sheet Pan Cauliflower with Crispy Onions and Caper-Parsley Vinaigrette, and he is convinced he may be able to survive as a vegetarian/vegan without too much loss of pleasure. Highly recommended for pleasure pigs! (Love you, B)

Great cookbook
I am vegetarian (heading towards vegan), but cook for many who are not. This book has the best recipes for me and for others. Highly recommend it.

Inspiring
The book lives up to the title. While there are some ideas you've seen many places before, the author also explores new ground. The ingredients aren't especially difficult to find, and anything you can't find locally can be sourced from Amazon. This book is giving me the inspiration I need to make meatless Monday a permanent fixture in the week.

Englische Ausgabe
Das Buch ist in englischer Sprache, was der Verkäufer nicht angibt. Unverständlich, dann hätte ich das Buch bei dem Anbieter erst garnicht gekauft. Habe es postwendend zurück gesendet. Der Händler ist in UK.
