I have been using the Cold Steel knife for about two years and have been very satisfied with and even giving one to my daughter
I bought this knife to replace a Cold Steel K-7 and I had high hopes for it. I have been using the Cold Steel knife for about two years and have been very satisfied with and even giving one to my daughter, the Cold steel knife has been great for cutting vegetables, fruits, and cheese I have not used it for any meats. It is not as sharp as it was after two years so time to upgrade I started shopping and I heard some negative things about Cold Steel as a company and some of the youTube videos are a little strange in my opinion. I have a Spyderco pocket knife and have heard good things about Spyderco so I was happy to find this knife. It has a nice handle and I like the blue option it makes it easy to pick out, the blade has a nice polish finish, it's made in Seki city Japan, it is super duper sharp, but it doesn't cut straight. Thats right it doesn't cut straight it curves to the right it must have something to do with the way Spyderco cuts it's serrated blade but it curves when cutting with it. I tried it on oranges, carrots, and celery same result it curves and this is a deal breaker form me so I sent it back. I am going to try a Dalstrong.

Great Knife
This is a decent knife. It feels good in the hand and cuts well. I really like the Spyderedge serrations. On occasion, I do get a tiny amount of rust where the blade enters the handle. I hand wash the knife and leave it in the drain rack, point up. I'm sure this contributes to the problems. Its not a big deal. I use the knife often and probably once a month I'll notice a little surface rust at the handle joint that wipes off. I think this depends on humidly and how long the knife stays wet on any particular day. This knife compares in build quality to the similar styled Victorinox kitchen knives, but nothing compares to a Spyderedge. This is a good knife for tomatoes, bagels and small breads. Depending how you cut your bagels, this may not be long enough. I like to plunge the tip in from the side and rotate the bagel as I cut. Perfect for that. If you like to saw the whole bagel at once, get the longer knife.

Keep browsing
The handle is bad, I mean dollar store quality may be better. A little small too for the blade length. The serrations are a very functional pattern, but lose their utility because of how flimsy the blade is. It tends to wander around and not be that controllable as other knives. I mean it has trouble with an apple, so, disappointing. Not getting through it, just feeling like it is wandering.Basically seems like a replica of a knife I would really like and use a lot, with a better handle and less blade flex.Spyderco fan, but don't get sucked in by the name there are better knives in this price range. I have a similar plain edge victorinox that is much better.Final word, I'm sure I'll find some task it can do well, but after I having used it awhile, I can say an easy I would not have bought it.

Fabulous knife
My favorite knife. I had one for more than 30 years, received as a gift from my deceased husband, that was accidentally destroyed by a visitor. I was so sad, for sentimental and functional reasons. So I was thrilled to find they were still being made. The new one does an equally great job in the kitchen. I choose to hand wash and throughly dry mine after each use. I think dishwashers/detergent can degrade good knives. Take care of expensive knives and they'll last and last.Black is basic, but I must admit the colored handles attracted my attention, especially the blue. But I would prefer that all the kitchen knives were available in all the colors, as some colors I don't like. And perhaps customers would like handles of their knife set to all match. So black it was for me.

Very sharp, good knife
I use this all the time as my primary kitchen utility knife. I know it is sharp because I stupidly gave myself a horrendous cut with it. I like it a lot.The steel is great, but it isn't stainless. I have to dry it immediately after washing to prevent rust from forming, something I haven't needed to do with other knives. But dang, has the price on these skyrocketed. Maybe wait for a sale or some type of deal.

AT LAST!! Best Knife in the World Available Again!!
A few decades ago, my husband and I bought two of these knives. They quickly became our kitchen essentials--and one still is (the other one was accidentally degraded in a dishwasher and the handle eventually fell apart). We gave them as gifts, but then the company quit making them, to our great disappointment. We are delighted that they have been brought back! Although I'd prefer a black handle (just a style thing), the knife itself is just as good as it's older cousin. Razor sharp, cuts meat or veggies like butter.

Trusty Rusty
Hi, am a widower so I am doing all the cooking which I really enjoy, also I am a big fan of the Spyderco brand ( am a edged weapon collector and have several Spyderco blades) and one day I saw these kitchen/cooking blades so I decided to try them, I have a few now and they are just GREAT! I use them constantly, they stay sharp, are easy to manipulate, am so glad to have them! BUT, I do wash my dishes by hand and 99% of the time I dry them and put them away, well Sunday night one of my favorite program was on so I let my dishes dry on a mat in the kitchen, I got a bit of CRS and forgot about it and went to bed, next morning I checked and put away all those dishes ( not many since it is only me and my doggie!), I noticed a brown spot on one of the knives, right where the blade meets the rubber handle! I thought I didn't clean it properly but it wasn't dirt! It was RUST! All across the bottom on both sides, one spot actually dug in the Steel! Now the knife had been left for approximately 9 hours! The rest of the blade was perfect, Not a spot of rust, just by the handle! When I grabbed the other knife, you can guess what I saw! That's right! The exact same thing,at the same area! So to make a long story short, make sure that when you clean your awesome blades that you dry them real well before you do something else! I can't see what's under the rubber handle but I bet it's not pretty! That's why the 4 stars instead of 5! BTW I also have Cold Steel blades and in a couple of years using that brand have never seen rust! I still prefer the Spyderco blades, just wished I had known!

Im a pretty big fan of spyderco knives
Im a pretty big fan of spyderco knives. Im not really impressed with this paring knife. Its on the large side for a paring knife although it has a fine edge and point which can allow you to do some fine work. Not a huge fan of the handle as there are grooves and specifically has been made for right handed people. I prefer the standard paring knife grips on the victorinox which allow you to hold the knife however you want without it being uncomfortable. That being said its not a terrible option but for the price it is currently being sold for you could buy 2 victorinox which work fine. I would really be really interested in a slimmed down model with vg10 steel. Love the edge that steel takes in the kitchen.

Great Little Knife
I bought this as a gift for my fiancee. Shes been using a cheap steak knife as her go to blade in the kitchen, so I got her this made in Japan red handled food saw. I liked it so much i got myself a flat grind regular blade version. The MBS-26 steel is holding up great, seems like its doing better than my vg10 steel Shun!! Being slightly taller/wider than your average paring utensil, its a nice in-between size for quick meal prep tasks. I cant tell if its full tang but its hard to go wrong with any knife made in Seki City. Its also a very good price for what your getting. High bang for buck ratio on the transaction.

Excellent Slicer
Great knife I have more expensive knives but this one is light, easy to clean, and cuts like a dream. I have purchased many of these knives to give as presents and everyone loves them. A sharp knife can be life changing in the kitchen!
