They're definitely blackout
These curtains are definitely blackout. They don't feel very premium - the faux velvet has lots of rough areas that makes it feel kind of cheap. That is not to say that these don't feel well constructed. I think they're very well stitched together - little to no light is leaked from the stitching. I also like that it looks a little textured, although a friend of mine disagrees with that assessment (he doesn't see any texture, while I do).Additionally, when I measured the width I actually found it was W50 x L108. Not as advertised, but for me that was okay.EDIT: I remeasured and they're definitely W52, my bad.One other thing that I didn't like about these curtains is that it has lots of "marks" on it that makes it a bit off-putting.There are things a few things I wish was different about these curtains though:1. I would have liked the product a lot more if it had white blackout linings instead of black ones.2. I preferred back tabs over rod pockets... but these curtains only allow rod pockets.3. I wanted white/ivory curtains that were W52 x L108, but as of this review, white is not an option for this size.

Unconventional use with excellent results
I read a few reviews that mentioned the blackout material does not go above the bar sleeve; my thought: why is your curtain rod mounted so low?I used these in a bit of an unconventional way, we ordered one pack and turned the panels on their sides to seamlessly cover two 44" tall by 85" wide, south- and west-facing windows. They are hung with black ring clips on a wrap-around blackout curtain rod mounted about 4" above the top of the window which is about 1.5" above the window trim.Pros:These are SO softThey are HEAVYThey are HugeThey block out the light as advertised- believe it or not, I have purchased several sets of "blackout" shades that didn't come close to justifying the label. They are machine washableCons: None yet.

Decent Quality, Does the Job
No, these aren't absolutely blow you away perfect imitation velvet, but how much can you expect for a set of two curtains that are around $75.00? Real velvet curtains cost several hundred dollars. I think this is about the best you will get for this price range. Overall, they are good quality; certainly heavy enough to be thoroughly insulating, and yes they do block out light completely. Still, I am not crazy about them aesthetically, I feel that they are more akin to fleece or felt or something.

Regal without the big price tag.
It took me a while to find ivory velvet drapes that would not look flimsy and cheap. These are just gorgeous. Heavy and elegant looking. I’m pretty sure no one will regret buying these. I steamed them before hanging to get creases out- other than new window in minutes.

So soft!!
Really nice! The blackout fabric doesn't go allll the way to the top so you get a bit of sunlight through there. So if you like COMPLETE blackout they're not 100%. If you don't mind then they're perfect!

My most favorite curtains
I purchased the grey blackout 100% curtains. So luxurious, so thick, so beautiful. The plush color is more neutral, so it goes with many different decorating styles. I ordered 3 different sets, and I love them all. I wish they had more colors in the 100% blackout, esp sage green.

Perfect and effective blocking out light.
Obviously they are not real velvet, but they are affordable, soft, block out light as you can see in the photo and machine washable.

Great blackout curtains
Bought these curtains for my baby’s nursery and they are great blackout curtains.Giving 4 stars because one of them came with a stain. It’s small and it doesn’t bother me that much. I will try to remove it!Besides that great curtains
