Seals out moisture, Replacement Lanyard: MP28900,

Failed within 2 months
Initially, this kill switch worked for a couple of times, then it failed. It took few weeks of time and effort in troubleshooting the problem. Since it was new, I never thought that this kill switch was the reason my outboard won't start. I unnecessarily spent money on the new ignition switch and CDI power pack. Also, the lanyard plastic key which goes into the kill switch was poorly quality. It cracked on the very first use.

Failed in 20 minutes.
The switch worked fine for about 20 minutes. I stopped to fish and the engine wouldn’t start again. After I was towed back to the dock and 3 hours of troubleshooting, not thinking it could be the brand new switch, I bypassed it and the engine fired up immediately. Reconnected the switch and nothing. Very unimpressed.....

Works great
I used this to convert a push button tiller outboard (Johnson 9.9 2 stroke) to a lanyard style killswitch. It works fairly well for being a universal product. I was able to use a large washer to make it work on my 1985.

Works
works good, I use if for my kids. when they get to far and pull the clip off, an alarm goes off warning me they are on the run

not good
Shorted out and shut engine off within 10 minutes. Ended up just putting an oem switch in. I've had good luck with Sierra parts. Just not this one

Good kill switch, exact match to old outboard switch
Exactly what I needed to replace my broken kill switch to my outboard. Was able to swap out easily and without problem.
