Just okay
Unfortunately, there was no manual included in the box, but I had seen some videos which helped me get started in making holes in my son's new belt. Too bad the holes were not clean and I had to try several times and even from different sides in order to make the holes complete. The result was not as I hoped for.I noticed that some of the different size hols were sharper than the other sizes. I had to be careful not to get hurt when taking out the punched-out material inside the hole puncher.I suppose working with real leather material is easier, but most belts these days are not made with genuine leather. For now, I am keeping it, but if I find a better tool to use, I will return it.

Does exactly what it says--pokes holes in leather belts
After losing a fair amount of weight, I purchased this hold punch to add two more more holes to about 15 leather belts, as opposed to buying 15 expensive new belts. Once I figured out which size hole to make in which belt, it was easy to do. The punch can leave a small tag on one side, but it's easily removed by one of the tools provided. My only complains are that the punch wheel is hard to turn (it moves in only one direction). But it still rates 5 stars, and the cost is way below that of even a single new leather belt. (Tip: Since there's now a lot of extra belt on the other side of the buckle, I cut a short piece of black self-adhearing hook and loop or Velcro cable and loop it around the belt just beyond the overlap, then slide it over the belt to keep the extra from flapping around.)

Works Perfectly!
I was so tired of trying to make new belt holes with a hammer and nail (and doing it poorly), so I thought I'd give this product a try. I was concerned because I have thick leather belts and one with leather stitched over rugged fabric, so it would need to go through both materials. I thought even if it worked it might be too hard for me to press the punch. I am amazed at how perfectly, and EASY this made holes in every belt I have, thick or thin, leather, fabric, or both, and with little strength needed to operate. I did take the suggestion of another reviewer and placed a small piece of cardboard over the strike plate - this did make it slightly awkward to align but the reward was the increased ease of punching completely through the belt in one easy press. This is an excellent product and a great value!

Such an upgrade from my dull old punch
I wondered how much of a difference a new hole punch would make over the old one, which I inherited when I started to tinker with making belts. I wondered whether I would just be spending money for a minor improvement.Hoooo boy, I should have upgraded months ago. This thing goes through thick leather like butter. Where previously I would have to squeeeeeeeze and squeeeeeeeze and try to find extra leverage to get through 8oz leather, this thing goes straight through it on the biggest hole with one hand, and I'm not the strongest guy by a long, long stretch.I like the fact that it comes with a spare punch anvil, although the other extras seem a little gimmicky. It feels pretty well made and is good value for the money.Do yourself a favor and upgrade if you're having issues punching holes in leather.

Works great
This was very easy to use. I was actually surprised how little effort it took to punch through a leather strap. I was expecting to fight with it a little but it punctured through like butter. I needed to add additional hole in a small leather shoe strap. The smallest rod worked perfectly. I’m sure the larger diameter rods will work great for belts. I like the additional tools that accompany this also...they came in handy.

Glad I bought this
I bought this in July and only used it yesterday, but it works very well. It's strong, sturdy and gives plenty of leverage to punch through difficult things. I punched holes in stencil material and it worked fine. If you have small hands, you might have a bit of a problem with it because it is on the large size, but if that's not an issue for you, you can't go wrong with this.

Works well and well made
I looked in the local hardware store for a leather punch to use on the headstall for one of my horses. I was not happy with the prices in town; so, I decided to look on Amazon. I read the reviews and though I would give this one a try. Glad I did! It works well on the leather tack and I even used it to tighten the saddle girth for one of my arabian horses who is pretty thin. The punch is well made and should last if it is taken care of properly.
