Yorkshire Grit
This is the first time I have read Margaret Muir. I shall certainly read more.I particularly enjoyed the last book in this series, her descriptions of life on the canals evoked many memories. I remember seeing the last few horse drawn boats as a child on the Grand Union canal during the war.

Yorkshire Grit
Three books all very different, but all ended when there was so much more to tell, ideally require follow on books so we can learn more about the lives of the women within the pages after it ended within the pages on the three books of this series Yorkshire Grit.

Rather 'old hat'
I found these stories all running along a similar theme - girl struggling against hard times/poverty/violence, opportunities seeming to fall into her lap, always the strong arm of a pleasant gentleman in the background and a rather fairytale ending which you can see coming a mile off. Although I read all three stories, I was disappointed with them - a bit between a very bad Catherine Cookson and an excellent Mills & Boon!
