The world's top firearms blog, The Truth About Guns, gives us a Thumbs Up! See their review here: http://bitly.com/1kuMLU9Why should any shooter be left with a cleaning kit that contributes minimal product for maximum cost? We've redesigned the entire experience of cleaning and maintaining your firearm in a family environment, considering the people around you while you're cleaning just as much as your own weapon that needs to be taken care of, too. We've eliminated strong smells and odors from our kit by creating possibly the easiest-to-use non-toxic firearms cleaning and lubrication kits out there, and packaging every element for both farm and field applications. The Tactical Triad is composed of three primary components. The first, PRISTINE Cleaning Solution, aggressively removes light-to-medium weight oils as well as built up carbon deposits and copper fouling. The second, Slip Mist Gun Oil Lubricant, penetrates and lubricates for lubricity that is 4X as effective as petroleum-based products. Plus it's sustainably manufactured right here in our own borders from renewable resources. The third, Pure Scrub, is a scrubbing pad that allows you to reach into tight places and get loose the particles that are contributing frustration to firearms cleanliness. Together they establish a foundation for safe and effective firearms maintenance. Our product is hand assembled by developmentally disabled workers at Macon Resources who are excited to work with us in creating a kit that is 100% MADE IN THE USA. All components are proudly manufactured inside the United States, including our cotton swabs, plastic bags and other packaging materials.

Good Non-Toxic, No-Odor Cleaner With Kit
I ordered this kit, as a new Glock owner, after reading bad things about the 'popular' gun cleaners/solvents/lubes. The odor, the danger, the long-term effects of using harsh chemicals, etc. It just didn't sit well with me. So, I saw a review of this 'user-friendly' kit on a blog (TTAG), and decided to give it a shot due to the up-to-now good reviews and the added contents of the kit. With that said, I have never used other cleaners/cleaning products, so my review is solely based on the company marketing claims and my findings.I have used the kit just once so far, and I am pleased aside from a few minor negatives. Here are my initial likes, middle-of-the-road feelings, and dislikes.Likes:- Non-toxic and basically no odor. I have no issues getting this stuff on me...though I still wear gloves.- The lube seems to work pretty well. Admittedly, I haven't used my firearm since lubing, but racking and dry firing is very smooth.- Robust, almost all-in-one kit, including cleaner, lube, wiping cloths, cleaning mat, and fine-tip cotton sticks/swabs (a set of gun brushes and barrel brushes, along with a good 'gun rag' would be ideal inclusions. A barrel rod would be icing on the cake).Middle-Of-The-Road:- The cleaning ability wasn't stellar from what I saw. Soaked my barrel for 5 minutes in the 10-1 solution, then rinsed it with filtered water (as the instructions state). Unlike the claims, this did not dissolve and clean the barrel outright. Most carbon residue was cleaned out with patch sweeps in the barrel (took about 3 patches to get it completely clean). It did remove carbon residue, but didn't act like the miracle dissolving product touted on the website. Did a decent job though.- The diluted Pristine solution left a weird 'patina' effect on the outside of my slide (it was completely dried, but parts of it still looked wet with solution). I was able to eventually wipe it off with a paper towel, but it took a couple passes of some good scrubbing to get it off. Just had me worried for a second that it reacted poorly with the 'Tennifer' finish. A wipe down with an oiled patch made it good as new after.- The included 'high-tech' cloths were...OK. They are a bit too thick to get into nooks and crannies (even cut to smaller sizes), and getting them in the eye hole of a barrel rod is near impossible. Plus, for my 9mm barrel, even a small strip would not go in without a lot of force exerted. I was not impressed with their absorption ability either. They did a decent job scrubbing, but like I said, the way they are made makes it difficult to get them in all the little gaps and holes. Thus, I still found myself using cotton patches instead. I will probably used them to scrub easily accessible areas, and maybe as a finishing cloth, but that's about it.- My bottle of Pristine didn't leak, like others complained of, but the bottom of the bottled did expand outward for inexplicable reasons. I tried to push it back in after I opened the bottle, but it eventually pops back out. With that, I can't stand the bottle up properly. Seems to be an issue with the thin, cheap plastic used for the bottle.- I wish the lube came in a needle-applicator bottle. The 'mister' bottle actually squirts out a straight stream of lube, which is a good thing. But, I find that it squirts out too much with just one pump. I broke one of the included cotton swabs in two, and used the wooden stick to apply one drop where needed.Dislikes:- Glock uses a copper-based anti-seize on their guns out of the factory, to maintain the lubrication for unknown shelf life. They say this should be left on the gun as long as possible, but I figured to just clean it off. Sadly, the diluted cleaner didn't work all that well at dissolving this grease, even with brush scrubbing. I did eventually clean it off, but it took a bit of scrubbing and wiping. Not sure the solvent played any role in that. Slightly disappointing.- The instructions suggest washing with the solution and then rinsing off washed areas with water. Even though I know the Glock could take it, I don't exactly want to expose the inner workings of my firearm (especially the frame/trigger mechanism) to a flow of water on a regular basis. The issue being that drying the internals is near impossible without a full disassembly. Even a can of compressed air can only do so much, more moving water droplets around than anything. I've read about the hair dryer use by some, but not exactly ideal or convenient.Overall, I will continue to use this cleaner, and I am fairly happy with it. I will update this review as time goes on, with how well it works regarding different scenarios (heavy build-up, repeated use, how well the lube holds up, etc).June 2014 Update: I have had a chance to use the kit a couple more times, and while most of the above still holds true, I do have a concern, shall we say, with the lube. After each trip to the range, upon cleaning/inspecting the gun after, the lube has turned to a nice shade of dark brown, with a consistency not unlike used motor oil. I can't tell if it's dirty or actually burnt, but it's definitely thicker than when it was applied. And those results come with just 50-75 rounds through it. This is only a major concern if I don't clean the gun after each use, but over time, using the gunked-up/possibly burnt oil could lead to wear-n-tear issues on a FA. I expected the oil to hold up a bit better based on the testing specs included in the kit. Since then, I have switched to Hoppes #9 with the needle applicator, and have had no issues with it. Have even made a couple trips without cleaning (150 rounds or so), and the oil is still just that...lube oil. No color change, no viscosity change. In short, while the rest of the kit is useful and nice, I won't be using the included lube going forward.

Good stuff - works quickly, does the job, and has no strong odors to offend the spouse !
I bought this kit because the price was right and because I have significant prior favorable experience with 300 Below Inc., the marketer of the kit. At the time the kit was delivered, I was about to perform a brake job (pads, rotors, calipers) on my car and all four wheels were off the vehicle. Since it was right to hand, I decided to try out the kit contents on my dirty and stained rims. I made up a batch of the Pristine Cleaner in a squirt bottle per the instructions, and I cut off a handy section of the provided Pure Scrub Pads. I squirted down the outside of all four rims with the Pristine Cleaner, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then scrubbed with the Pad section. The road dirt and brake pad dust residue scrubbed away easily, with only a couple of extra Cleaner squirts on crusty places, and after rinsing the wheels off with a hose, they were bright and shiny. Well, very nice - so then I turned the wheels over. Ever seen the back side of the rims from a car with 115K miles on it? Ugly, very ugly. I sprayed them down with the Pristine Cleaner and went to work with the Pad section. It took quite a bit more elbow grease, and extra Cleaner squirts, but eventually those wheel insides came clean - still ugly, but clean. And, the Pad section I was using, still the original, was intact and fully functional, with no tears or holes or thin spots. It was tired-looking, and stained, but still usable. Very sturdy stuff.Since the Kit is marketed for gun cleaning, I eventually tried the components in that arena. I found the Pristine Cleaner will dissolve and wash away just about all the fouling around the inside of an AR upper and lower assembly, and made short work of barrel fouling. I also cleaned two very dirty, long neglected rimfire rifles (grandkid trainers) with the Cleaner, a toothbrush, and a small piece of the Pad, with complete success. I applied a light treatment of the Kit's Slip Mist Lubricant to all three rifle actions after they were cleaned, and that Kit component seems to work well also. There are so many good patent medicines for gun actions and barrels that it is truly difficult to claim one is better than any of the others - Slip Mist seems to be as good as any.For those that do their gun cleaning indoors - the Pristine Cleaner and the Slip Mist Lubricant DO NOT smell like typical gun oils - no gentle aroma of Hoppes No. 9 or Break-Free CLP to annoy the spouse; they are nearly odorless, and what scent there is does not offend. The materials provided in the kit will last a very long time, and replacements/refills should be available from the marketer, 300 Below Inc. If you need to put together a gun cleaning package, start with this kit, you won't be disappointed.

Just fantastic
Tired of feeling like you burned your sinuses out with harsh-smelling chemical cleaners? The No. 9 make your eyes water and your head ache? My friend, this is the stuff for you.No odor. No vapor. No burnt sinuses, no watery eyes, no headaches. The best part? I swear it cleans better than any other solvent I have tried on my firearms. The lube is top notch as well. You also get a nice cleaning mat so you don't leave lead and such on the kitchen table. This is now the only cleaner I will use.

Valentines day 2015
I was won this product off Facebook one year ago from a valentines day promo. I wish I written a review before now, but have had a respectable time to use it all the same. My father had an old rifle that was set in a damp room for multiple years, and we didn't think that it had any uses left. long story short, we took the rifle apart and let it soak for hours. although it has some pitting still in it, we were able to bring most of the original Bluing out of the steal. Very happy and it made a believer out of my father as well as myself.I have also used it on cleaning my bikes, rims on my car, etc...Great product and recommend it.one thing to be aware of, make sure that the pristine bottle does not stay in the case. the cap does not stay tight enough and leaks.
