Very Nice Garden Fountain
I bought this fountain for our front yard courtyard. I like the simple design and the gray-green color that blends in nicely with our garden landscaping. Some buyers commented that the fountain peeled when they washed it. I sprayed all sections of the fountain with several coats of Krylon Fusion clear spray paint to protect. I have done this in the past with other resin and plastic products with great success. The fountain was extremely easy to assemble. There are only three pieces (plus the two small turtles that snap into the large basin) and each piece snapped right into place. As some others commented, the only challenge was to snap the pump outlet into the solar unit. It's easy enough if you just reach up inside the piece, hold the pump outlet in place, and slide the solar unit's outlet over the pump outlet. Very easy. The fountain looks lovely in our yard and I am thrilled to have it there. (I am currently charging the unit. So, I can't comment on the fountain's function, but if it performs with the same quality that I have noted, it will be fine.)Update: July 3, 2014. Fountain is still working like a champ. It did fail to restart after I cleaned it, but I discovered that I had not fully disassembled the pump while cleaning. After I dug out the directions, I recleaned the pump removing the little propeller-looking piece for cleaning, and it works great again. No chipping or peeling as others experienced. Still looks like new.

Looks great, solar fountain needs improvement
It was very easy to assemble and install. Because it was going to be exposed to south Florida sun I coated it with a lacquer spray prior to assembly so I could get some more protection and life out of it. Still holding strong and looks great. The fountain (pump) is not very strong at all and I only got a full "stream" out of it the first day after leaving it to charge for 3 days as suggested by others. Since then it still turns on upon the sun coming out, but at best it is only a trickle despite over a month of no rain and fully sunny skies. The water is still recycling through so it's not the end of the world, but would have been nice to see birds enjoying a bath instead of just a drink.

Lasted 4+ years till raccoons knocked it over!
We've had this out on our deck year-round since May, 2014. Over the years, the on-off switch stopped working, and quite a lot of the finish wore off the inside of the bowl, but the fountain has continued to work faithfully on every sunny/partly cloudy day. The circulating water keeps mosquitoes away and grunge from forming, so it's easy-care as well as a lovely sight and sound. The birds are very dependent on it, and since we haven't had rain in several months, other animals are coming too. I guess that's what happened last night, because this morning, the bowl had been dumped onto the deck (one of the retaining tabs that holds it to the base had broken off a couple years ago) and shattered. It must have scared some poor raccoon or cat pretty badly, and I hope no one was hurt! Actually, only the bottom of the bowl shattered, but it no longer holds water, so I have it lined with a garbage bag while I order another.

The solar pump died and, the finish on the fountain started peeling immediately.
This product does not last. Shortly after putting the fountain in my garden the finish began to flake off in the bowl. Within three months it quit running. I tried a different pump motor, but it turns out that the solar panel quit working. Now I am left with nothing but a $175 dollar piece of trash. Oh, for a mere $75 the company will send me another solar kit. But, what good is it to spend that money for a fountain that is decomposing. All of this in less than a year.

Nice Fountain but poor finish
Love the sound this fountain makes, but it does take a lot of leveling to get the water to pour evenly. My complaint is that less than 1 month of use and the finishing inside the bowl is flaking off for no reason. Seems to be happening whether I have water in the bowl or not.

Worth every penny!
My wife really wanted a birdbath. We had one before but it always getting dirty and the standing water attracted Mosquitos. So this time we looked for one with a fountain built in. Unfortunately, there was no power near the spot where we were going to put it. That's when we looked into solar powered birdbaths. I must admit we did a lot of research and most reviews were negative. When I checked into them at a local home center they told me that they didn't carry them because "They don't work very well". But we kept looking . Due to great reviews, we bought this one from Amazon. It arrived quickly from Illinois and I had put together and running in about 2 minutes. Simply put- it works great. We have so many birds at it each day that we need to refill it every night. One tip. The top fountain head connects to the pump inside the top bowl. It's not easy to lineup the connection. But once you do , it works fine. Also the directions are pretty minimal so don't expect a lot of explanation. But it is not all that difficult to set up or use.I was skeptical , but not any more-a great product.

Poor craftmanship hurts what could be a solid product
This could have been a 4 but I found the craftsmanship poor. The reason it loses big marks is because the base was not level - which is pretty darn important for a fountain. The water was running off to one side. I was able to find a makeshift solution as returning an item of this size is no small task. I just think making sure the base is level is a pretty big deal for an item such as this. A smaller issue was that one of the pegs for the turtles was not well made and had tons of extra bulk resin on it. Again I was able to chisel it off but just another craftsmanship issue that I don't think I should have had. Given these two issues I did take it down from a 4.It does work as advertised and in time I hope I'll be happy with it. I just don't think I should have had to make the modifications needed.

Do not buy this !
Very poorly made for the price of this bird bath. This is not even a year old and it’s literally fallen apart. First the pump it came with stopped working in the first 2 weeks of use. And then I tried to set it up again for the summer and it’s crumbled. Absolutely terrible product do not buy this !

same excellent service
dislike no reserve energy for pump no matter how small the cloud that goes by.
