Compared to GPS-only USB GPS solutions, the GPS+GLONASS combination allows connection up to 34 satellites simultaneously. While calculating device position requires at least three satellite signals, devices that use both GPS and GLONASS satellites almost double the number of usable satellites. Therefore, positioning is more accurate, especially in dense “urban canyon” environments.

Work directly in Raspbian for Raspberry but sometimes slow to discover satelites.

Good navigation solution
A good solution for those who want a receivere for multiconstelation. In some trials, with a narrow north satellite visibility, it is really a big difference having only GPS or both GPS and Glonass. I had no problems working with it, and honestly, for this price, a good deal

Beware! No drivers for WIN 8
I didn't do enough homework on the driver issue. Win 8 enforces driver certification and the old COM# ports are gone. I saw a small chance that MS might be thinking about making a new driver class for GPS but it does not seem to exist other than as "vapor ware". If COM#: ports existed on WIN 8, there would be no problem, but they do not. In my case, I just pulled out my original navigation computer that is stuck at XP Pro (ancient hardware issues) and everything worked at 38K.It doesn't appear that Canmore is responsive to emailed Win 8 driver inquiries. However, it would be a few dollars to have the drivers certified to work with Win 8, Sort of shame Canmore did not certify them as the Glonass+GPS is very very accurate. In the end, I intend to use an Arduino Uno with the Canmore 730F in a stand alone data system, so the WIn 8 incompatibility is not a significant issue.
