Good book, got it for reference
Highly recommended for people interested in lighting overall, not necessarily just digital.I bought it as a reference book as I've already been working for a number of years in the industry, and it delivers in that regard. If you're completely new to the concepts, even better, you'll have even more to gain from its pages. Worth owning.

A really great lighting resource
A really great lighting resource. Was extremely informative and easy to follow along my first time through, and use it consistently to reference back to. Highly recommended for anyone interested in lighting in the animation or vfx fields.

Magnificent
It got to my hands in excellent conditions. This book should be considered a holy grail to digital lighting artists. As a professional, this has helped me understand from very basic to more advanced concepts and techniques for digital lighting.I recommend this for beginners as well. Explanations are detailed and quite easy to follow. I am not even half way through and I find this book to be an extraordinary and brilliant masterpiece.

A Winner!
My first impressions of this book is that it is a gem.....the content, the layout, the clear explanations, the quality of the printing and graphics.....all first rate.I've been dabbling in 3D since the '90s with several 3D apps (Blender, C4D, Carrara, Bryce, VUE), but never studied lighting until now. I've learned a lot already about types of lights and their uses, and am looking forward to improving my renders using the knowledge in the book.BTW, the book doesn't depend on any particular 3D program....it should apply to virtually all packages even thougheach program may use different terms for the light type.....e.g. Omni in C4D vs Hemi in Blender.I like the book so well I purchased a 2nd copy for my brother who uses Maya & VUE. We'll learn together how to createwell lit scenes.ASAP, I'll have both copies spiral bound like the other books I use frequently......it only costs ~$5/book at the printshop, but it makes the book so much more useable, as it lays flat or bends all the way around. Thanks Virginia for taking the time and effort to produce this excellent learning tool. Book publishing isa huge endeavor, and can be (is?) a huge headache/PITA.I hope you had fun doing it, and sell a lot of copies. =)
