The Wolf Gift: The Graphic Novel

This was more subtle, classy fantasy work (to me)--- which is common for Anne Rice. You don't get the bells and whistles in this graphic novel that was in the Vampire Chronicles series. However, here you'll get a much more sedated Anne Rice. Perhaps the actual lengthy novel is more vivid and action- filled.I personally enjoyed it. Reading Anne Rice in graphic novel form was a treat. On the other hand, I can see a person becoming bored with this one, or not thinking it's worth the money. Critical readers beware. Other criticism could come from the graphics themselves--- it's completely in black and white, and there are no extraordinary graphics. So, meh. Your call. The storyline was very basic as well.

Loved the book and am so glad to see this story brought to life. Can't wait to see "The Wolves of Mid winter".

anne rice is my favorite author. i love her books!!!

I LOVED Anne's original novel! It's one of her best, in my opinion, and certainly one of my favorites! ❤ This was a great adaptation of the book! The illustration was just beautiful and accurately depicted the story! Beautifully done. Highly recommend.

Magnificent illustrations to accompany a marvelous story. I fell for Reuben Golding reading Anne Rice's The Wolf Gift and Wolves of Midwinter last holiday season. I adore the Vampire Chronicles and the magical stories Anne weaves enveloped me through The Wolf Gift books as well. Flipping through this graphic novel upon receipt I was awestruck at the manwolf illustrations. Practically what I'd envisioned reading the novels. Superb!!!

Best Werewolf graphic novel I’ve read in a while

Different vision than I had in my imagination when I read the two novels, but a very clever take on a very clever "new look" at the werewolf legends. Of course, what else would I expect from the author of the best vampire saga printed to date?

I loved the book but the graphic novel doesn't do justice to the novel itself. It just adds a picture of the characters in your mind which I had pictured totally different and therefore was not as interesting to me. Although well drawn and coloured, it just is one of those books you read once and keep for posterity.
