It all started in 1957! R. Dakin & Co. began importing electric trains from Japan. To protect the trains during their long journey to America, shippers cradled them with a half dozen or so velveteen stuffed animals. This cute and clever packaging--and not the trains created an unexpected stir of excitement . In response, R. Dakin & Co., now a division of Applause, LLC. began to import these original Dream Pets by the hundreds. As momentum grew, these little `funsters' became nothing sort of a cultural phenomenon worldwide. By the late 70's, more than 2,000 individual characters captured the imaginations of kids and collectors alike. Today, R. Dakin & Co. is proud to reintroduce Dream Pets into the hearts and hands of an all-new generation of dreamers. This little lamb is almost 7" tall. She looks like a poodle dog to me!
