Five-star review directly from the cat
We cats are highly discerning, not picky. Having said that, Cedarific litter is pleasant to my delicate paws, easy for the human I own to carry, releases no choking dust when poured, clumps for cleaning, leaves no grit or sand on the floor, and remains lightweight even when, um, "used." It emits a pleasant odor of its own that doesn't bother me because there's nothing weird or artificial in it. Maybe it even discourages moths, although I've never had them in my coat so I really don't care. All in all, it's my favorite litter ever! I hope we never use clay litter again. This stuff is far more absorbent, soft (much more like soft shreds than "chips") and functional. I like my new restroom so much better now.

Effective and environmentally sound litter
We wanted to switch from the basic bentonite clay litter we'd been using once we learned the environmental costs of strip-mining bentonite clay. This cedar litter was at the juncture of reasonably priced, plausibly effective, and environmentally friendly, and I'm happy to report that it didn't disappoint. It's more absorbent than I was expecting, though you do have to stir the litter after scooping so as to distribute any liquids and avoid ammonia smells. We have one cat and have been scooping every other day; no strong smells or problems over a couple of months. The bag lasts a long time.Overall, if you're tired of your cat contributing to habitat destruction via strip-mining, this is a fantastic litter to switch to.

Lightweight product, strong odor control
This is the best cat litter ever. Are you sick of carrying heavy bags of cat litter up flights of stairs? What about having to scoop your litter every day because it starts to smell like urine and poop after the first 24 hours? This product contains odors, allowing cats to bury their waste deep rather than leaving it at the top and forcing them to step on clotted mounds, and you don't have to deal with the smell. It weighs almost nothing compared to conventional litter. I changed my cats to this two years ago, and it was an easy switch. I have not gone back since! They have no health problems related to this--it seems to be very safe for them. I have no "litter box" issues--the cats go inside the box, and all of their waste stays in the box as well. I can't recommend this product enough--you can scoop or change litter at your leisure, guests can come over without knowing you have a cat right away....

Cedarific Natural Cedar Cat Litter
When I couldn't get Cedarific litter at the store where I buy groceries, I started ordering it from Amazon. I love this litter. There's very little dust with it and that's a definite plus for a cat that has allergies. It doesn't have any artificial scents with it either, which is great for my cat, who constantly licks herself because she itches. There is very little problem with odor but the cedar scent is not overbearing either. It does track easier than clay litters, but sweeps up very easily too. The litter box is extremely easy to keep clean with Cedarific and I'm just glad to have found where I can still get it. Oh, another BIG plus is that it's not near as heavy as carrying 28-30 lb boxes of clay litter up 15 steps! The 15 lb bags are very manageable.

Tracks like crazy, but Garfunkel seems to like it...
Luckily I have a cat that seems very tolerable when it comes to me switching litters. I've been through a half dozen or so varieties in the five years I've had him and while I've yet to find the "purrfect" litter, this one is pretty good except for the tracking. So prior to this brand, I was using Kitty's Crumble All Natural Coconut Husk Cat Litter, 14 lb , which worked really well, until Amazon decided to jack the price up and make it unaffordable. This litter had good reviews and, as of this review, is roughly the same price as Kitty's Crumble used to be here, so I decided to try this out.The 15 pound bag has a nice plastic handle to it and a zip tear opening. The 20 pound bag doesn't have a handle, nor a zip tear opening. Inside is just cedar, ground up into very light and circular amounts. It's like pouring out a bag of sand, only it's cedar. It has a nice smell to it, is extremely soft and I don't notice any odor. When Garfunkel urinates in it, it doesn't clump and that section turns into a darker, maroon-type color until it dries up. Since he tends to go all the way in the back of the box in the same spot, by the end of the week I notice slight amounts of liquid residue at the bottom of the litter box when I'm emptying it, but even then, all the litter above it has returned to its normal "dry" color and isn't maroon like it was just used.I have a big litter box and just like with the Kitty's Crumble I use half a bag of this each week, scooping out the poo daily and dumping it all and using another half of the bag from scratch. Works well. The only real problem, as the review title says, is that this tracks like crazy. I live in a studio apartment and within a day you can see the cedar all over my carpet and kitchen linoleum. Also, if I'm in bed and Garfunkel is doing his business, after he rockets out of the box and jumps onto the bed with me the litter gets all over the sheets. He does have fur tufts on his feet though, so they tend to get trapped in there. This litter would probably be perfect if it didn't track so much. Otherwise, this is a winner.

I am so happy I found this product!
My cat kept having diarrhea and I couldn't figure out why until one day I noticed her cleaning herself and diligently getting the litter out from her paws (I was using FreshStep). I immediately googled the safety of litter inside the digestive tract and found out her diarrhea was due to me not knowing the hazards associated with regular cat litter.I researched orangic forms of litter and ordered this one from amazon because of the positive reviews. My cat had no problems adjusting to the new litter and it also lasts longer than FreshStep. It also smells nice and keeps odor under control. I just started to notice an odor after 2 weeks. It DOES get all over the house, however I was able to minimize the tracking by putting down a mat near the litter box. My cat is doing much better though and so am I; FreshStep was activating allergies in me that I noticed have gone away since I threw that garbage out. You won't regret buying this product.
