The quality and size is excellent. Well worth the money. The lid works well too and keeps ice cold for a few hours.

Beautiful stainless steel ice bucket for events. We love how the inside bottom is made to collect the melted ice and keep the frozen ice above so that it's not "swimming" in water. A must have for your party events and we can't wait to use it in the near future.

Just what I wanted to replace old ice buckets. Worked well for me.

Perfect for mobile bar. Will hold close to the entire 7 lb bag (small bag) of grocery store or gas station ice and will keep the ice cool out on a kitchen counter at room temp to last through an evening party easily. Great to have in your "beverage line" with pre-batched drinks (think sangria or margaritas) so guests can serve themselves ice and then fill up at your drink station. My test run: one Buddeez Cold Beverage Dispenser, 1.75 gallon, Clear half full of sangria served in 9oz cups with seasonal fruit for a 15-20 guest party over 4+hours. Place was at room temp, prob a little warmer given the space. At the end of the night the sangria was gone and three quarters of the ice in the bucket had been used for beverages. Maybe the first inch of the bottom had melted to water--essentially filling the channels Oxo put into the bottom of the black plastic liner. Don't have another bucket to compare with to see if that tech actually makes a difference, but for most of these events it was just right (and better than tossing ice into a dish that needs to be drained periodically (not the most sanitary option) or an igloo cooler (when your cocktails are beautiful, why skimp on other aesthetics with soft-padded neon-colored mold-injected plastic?)). If I was mixing drinks a la carte (need more ice than at self-serve/batched drink events), this would probably do for fewer guests or shorter events, depending on how fast your bartender is and the degree of alcoholism among your guests...I would plan to buy a bigger bag of ice and keep it in the freezer, planning to refill half way through. This at least keeps your bartender from having to move back and forth between the freezer's ice tray and the drink-making station.I didn't think I would use the tongs at all, but the business ends are actually large enough to make ice transfer fast and sanitary...thought a scoop would be faster but it really isn't, especially if using high-quality (think crystal clear, no air bubbles) ice in cubes. As with all of Oxo's kitchenware, the tongs are quite high quality. That said, the OXO Good Grips Flexible Scoop is the perfect size to use with this as well since the handle is not very long (still, scraping the bottom of the bucket will prob be a little challenging unless you tilt it).Lost a star because the way the handle is attached to the bucket is suspect--this is consistent with many other reviews on this site. A molded piece of plastic attached to the bucket acts as a pin which goes through the holes in the handle. It seems sturdy enough to support its own, unloaded (empty) weight, but I would not count on it withstanding actual transport by the handle with ice loaded in the bucket. That doesn't mean it's useless--used in conjunction with a hand on the underside supporting most of the weight, repositioning around the room or counter top is made easier, which seems to be Oxo's intent.

I read the reviews for this bucket and there were some complaints about the lid. The lid on the one I received is perfect. The tongs are great and love that you can hang them on the side of the bucket handle. It's great looking and stylish and is very well made which is to expected of OXO products. Highly recommend. Very pleased.

This is very sturdy and easy to use, it does a terrific job of keeping ice from melting with the insulated walls. The ice tongs work well and easily hang on the side, I appreciate that design. When I ordered this, my husband wasn't thrilled because he like our MCD ice bucket but he agrees it was a great purchase and works exactly as it should. Kudos to Oxo!

It was hard for us to find a decent ice bucket. The couple we tried were way too small. This bucket is nice and big. The ice stays cold for several hours. The reviews that complained about the metal - I didn’t find that a problem. I would purchase this bucket again.

Great design, Ice stays frozen for over 12 hours. I wish I had ordered this 30 years ago instead of using a glass ice bucket where the ice melts in 3 hours!Comes with ice tongs that fit on the side of the bucket. I will be giving this as a wedding present along with a good bottle of liquor for two weddings this year.
