Chosen: A House of Night Novel

I hadn't realized I was so close to the end
This one had me all over the place, in a way it brings me back to when I was 16. These books are truly remarkable. I love them. They will be in my physical library one day.

Outstanding!
Let me start out by saying that I think this book is mainly for teenagers who can understand the plot and all the mistakes that Zoey makes. This book left me breathless. I loved it from the beginning and it kept me reading all the way until the very last page, upon which I immediately downloaded the next book on my kindle and began on her next one.Zoey's Friends: First off let me begin by saying that zoey's best friend was Stevie ray...in fact still is if you count the undead Stevie Ray. While some people think that it is silly that her group (Damien, Jack, & the twins) don't know that she doesn't like "birthmas" presents, let me remind you that she has only been at the house of night for 2 months, and that there are groups within groups. Stevie Ray & Zoey....The Twins (duh)... and Jack & Damian...oh and Eric but he doesn't really stay in the group for very long and let's face it, they haven't been together long and Zoey seems very not interested in Eric. Anyways, her friends are there for her throughout the entire book until they find out about all the lies and half truths that she has been telling them, and then (rightfully so) they leave her, feeling hurt (as any teenager would) and stupid (in the case of the twins who had been ogling zoeys new "lover). However they are true friends and quickly overcome the hurt in the next book.Zoeys Boyfriends:A: Heath: Okay let's face it, he is the boyfriend we all care about least...he is human, and besides the blood lust very boring, however he is sweet and has true feelings (in my opinion) for zoey.B. Erik Knight: Sooo Fiiiiiiine (as the twins would say) yes, Zoey picked well in boyfriends, if only she could have actually spend some time throughout the book with said boyfriend *sighs* I liked Erik best and hoped they would be able to work it out...however the nice guy does normally finish last.C. Loren *dreamboat* poet extraordinaire <3 The man that all of us readers see as soooo sweet, he is the perfect guy, he says all the right things, makes Zoey feel like a woman, and is forbidden (duh that makes us want him more) but come on, we all know he is bad from the get go and while I am hoping for the best as Zoey makes love to him, I am horrified when Erik *sighs* walks in on them, and even more horrified when Zoey's imprint with Heath is destroyed and then we find out that Loren betrayed zoey...and then he is dead *ugh* come on I totally wanted more of Loren Blake even though he was horrible.Zoey & Stevie RaySome of the best scenes take place with these to characters, your heart bleads for both of them because we love Stevie Ray (and we all cried when she died) and we want Zoey to be able to fix her (but we are sad because Stevie Ray is loosing her humanity and poor Zoey needs her best friend.)Zoey & Neferet...okay this issue totally wasn't resolved almost nothing happened the whole book regarding these two...let's cross our fingers that more happens in the next bookAll in all, I completely never see anything coming in these books, they leave me shocked, stunned, upset, and wanting more. I have cried 3 times while reading these books once when Stevie Ray dies, Once when Erik Confronts Zoey, and once when...well keep reading and find out...Hope this helped! These are great books!Oh also a note to all of you older people who think that the relationship between Zoey & Loren is "illegal & Gross" Come on....the whole point of becoming a fledgling is that the rules aren't the same, and Loren is like 3 years older then her...come OOOOOOOOOOOOON (Yes like I said this is more for teenagers, adults think 3 years is soooooo wrong...come on people, it's a book)Also the twins...they are not cartoonish, they are cute and meant to be so....linked and close and have a special bond....<3

My humble opinion
Addicted to the series. Always a good read. I love me some supernatural. I do like the author's style of writing, which feels natural and compatible to the way we talk and think. Good character development. Love the fact that the author references modern icons, movies and events. Story lines are interesting and filled with drama and edge of your seat excitement and anticipation. I do love to hate the villain and this one is evil. Only negatives are ones that waste good story space and time, such as, the repetitive descriptions of past events and characteristics of people and then the romantic events or inner insecurity issues can definitely use some editing as it can, in places, be blah blah blah....tedious and over descriptive for what is needed. I usually just skip over these sections and get back to what's really happening with the story. There are also some typos here and there that bug me on rare occasion because I wish I could just fix them myself! Oh, and though the length of these books are typical, I would love if some authors would just make books that are seriously think again, like 500 pages or more! Other than that. I highly recommend this series. You won't regret it.

Zoey has gotten on my last nerve
Don't get me wrong, this is a good book but the way Zoey's handling things is MESSED UP. She HAS NO CLUE what the right thing to do is. I'd rather have her killed by the Change than Stevie Rea. At least, then, she doesn't keep making such big mistakes like having 3 boyfriends and also, keeps telling herself that she'll break up with Heath when SHE DOESN'T. Why is Zoey such a screw up? She's cheating on Erik and it's obvious that she doesn't caare about him because she just pushes her guilt aside like trash. Ugh! I HATE Zoey. The books are good but if I read anymore on who she knows what she thinks the right thing to do is, I'm seriously going to punch my fist through a wall. Seriously though, WHY THE HELL did you make Zoey turn out to be such a backstabber and a slut? I call her Ms. Slut-Slut because even though she "says" she loves Erik, she doesn't. She doesn't pay attention to him, she always has an excuse to leave, she spends ABSOLUTELY NO time with him and while Erik is under the impression that Zoey is off studying or whatever, she's making out with Loren or Heath. Man, you'd think that she would've learned from her mistakes but if you tell one lie, you have to tell another one to cover the first lie up and so on. That's what she keeps doing; LYING. She lies to EVERYONE: Erik and her friends. Oh and if that's not worse, Zoey's friends with Aphrodite. I'm going to stop right now because I'm so disgusted.

Annoying protagonist
Not gonna lie the protagonist has proven to be a bit annoying for my liking. With the I’m holier than thou attitude, and I’m a bad ass attitude but then when something bad happens she’s all woe is me and I’m a damsel in distress but also because I’m a bad ass I get to boss my friends around and the like of cuss words were cringe. Like you can go without saying anything at all but replacing shit with the word “poopy” gave me second hand embarrassment. Other than that I like everything else. The plot, romance (or lack thereof), and the other characters are well written. Plus it’s based in my hometown and it’s exciting to read about places and things that I’m familiar with so I can definitely see the movie play in my head. On to the next book!

Reliving my childhood
I started reading this series at least 12 years ago, but didn't finish it because the public library did not have the last few books.I saw a tik tok video mentioning the series and then I recently bought the whole series to relive my childhood and to finally finish the series. The only thing I don't like is that the covers on Amazon have changed to more colourful covers. The books as I remembered had the black covers as seen on the page. This is an easy read. The characters are progressing and developing as the story goes on.

Never boring
Just like the previous books, this one was hard to put down. Always interesting always easy to follow and of course ended in a way that makes you lunge into the next both feet first. Don't start reading unless you got the next book on hand or nearby you will need it!

Tolles Buch
Ich fand das Buch einfach klasse. Ich fand die ersten beiden Bücher zwar nicht so toll, aber danach wurde die Serie richtig spannend.
