Really good!
Already have a Phase 95 but have just never loved it. Always wondered if it was a little lacking compared to the classic script 90. Considered the MXR RI one but lack of true bypass and batter jack made me reconsider. Decided to try this on a whim when I saw I could get it delivered next day. Figured for $10 delivery I can try it and if it’s not great could return it. Yeah, it’s not going back. Blows the phase 95 out of the water. The 95 sounds fine but never inspired me. Just plugged the Whirlwind in for a quick test to make sure it worked and spent the next 30mins playing and not wanting to turn it off. So much warmer and more organic sounding than the 95. Well worth the money, very glad I gave this a try, going right on the board

Absolutely Fantastic Phaser Pedal Many of you may already know that ...
Absolutely Fantastic Phaser PedalMany of you may already know that back in the early 70's a designer named Michael Laiacona was the creator of the hugely successful MXR Phase 90 pedal. It became the standard for all Phaser pedals. It has been used on countless recordings. Michael left MXR and started the company Whirlwind. 40 years later Michael decided to recreate the pedals that got him started in the business by launching his “Rochester Series Pedals”. One of them being the Orange box. This pedal seems to be the recreation of his early 70s Script model Phase 90. The Orange box is American made, handwired, true bypass, with led light and 9 volt input. The original Phase 90 was not true bypass, ran by battery only, added noise to your rig and did not have an on light.Yesterday I received the Orange Box and could not stop playing it. All I can say is WOW! It exceeds all my expectations. All the internet praise I read was right. It is the warmest, natural sounding analog Phaser pedal I have heard. I'm playing an American Standard Strat into a Fender Princeton Reverb amp. And it sounded like an extension of my guitar without any coloration of sound or noise. Sounded great with my dirt pedal also (Xotic BB Preamp). With only 1 simple knob it is amazing the range of lush sounds you get from slow to fast warble. I do not have an original Phase 90 pedal to compare it to. But I don't need to. Wheather it matches the original or not it sounds fantastic. Makes me want to sell my other 5 pedals pedals that add coloration and start over. Now that I know what a natural sounding pedal can sound like.

Best Phaser I've Ever Owned!
If you want the subtle, warm effect of an original script logo MXR Phase 90 but with the modern convenience of true bypass, an LED power indicator, and a 9V power jack, this is the phaser for you. This thing sounds GREAT either clean or overdriven, and is incredibly warm and subtle. No volume drop/increase when the pedal is engaged, and the on/off switching is totally silent as well. Cannot recommend this pedal highly enough! Much better than my MXR EVH Phase 90, Pfeiffer Phaser, or Retro-Sonic Phaser.

It's like a phase90 with true bypass and no hi/mid boost
It's like a phase90 with true bypass and no hi/mid boost. A/B'd this with an old 80s block 90 and that new Zakk Wylde phase. While each had their positives, the whirlwind was less harsh and sat in the mix better. To be subjective: its a mellow almost vibrato-ish, kinda watery sound. A good phase overall. Will be using the Whirlwind moving foward.

Best Phaser
I have hand wired script and block logo Phase 90's, and they both have issues. The block stopped working, and the script has intermittent level issues. The Whirlwind Orange box performs as advertised. Hand wired with switchcraft jacks and a true bypass switch. Sometimes the blue led comes on a second after the effect is activated, other than that so far so good. Sounds great with a full sweep like the old phasers.

Love it!
Sounds like my original but with an led, no noise, a power supply input and most importantly no noise. I have and love the EVH as well but this was a bargain on sale.
