40+ Vegan recipes for quick and healthy snacks and meals
For what this book is, a small (less than 100 pages, less than 50 recipes plus a few snack ideas,) and easy cookbook, it actually turned out to be quite useful to me. The recipes are straightforward and fairly easy. Obviously with such a small selection of dishes, you will not find every recipe you are hoping for. However, the photos are frequent and in color, and this book serves me well for giving me vegan ideas I can improve upon. One of the nice things about this cookbook is that it is published in a larger font, so I can actually read many recipes without my glasses! In addition, I like that the publisher left blank pages (or plenty of space if not a full blank page,) where I can write down my own additions or changes after or before each recipe.Of course, if you have been cooking vegan for a long time, this book may be too basic for you.On the other hand, if you are just starting out on the whole vegan journey, this a handy reference for taking with you to the grocery store (so you can stock up on ingredients for recipes you want to try and so you have enough ingredients on hand that you can whip up a meal in a hurry.) Most of the ingredients used are easily purchased at any local grocer. Finally, once your fridge is loaded with the necessary fresh produce, I would say that using this cookbook you could readily cook up a tasty and healthy meal with minimal thought, minimal work and minimal mess!

A Solid Foundation
I haven't used all of the recipes in here (and I might never use them all) but I think this is a good way to get familiar with the basics of gluten-free vegan cooking. There are some good ideas to get you going and spark your creativity in the kitchen. So far the Singapore Fried Noodles are a big hit, even with my teenagers. I adapted the recipe to our taste by cutting back on curry powder and increasing soy sauce. I'm in LOVE with the Creamy Avocado Carbonara recipe, as is. If you like zucchini, definitely start with that! All in all, this book has been a great help to me in building my repertoire and confidence as a gluten-free/vegan cook (and holds to its promise of dishes in under 30 minutes). Learning how to use things like "flax eggs" and cauliflower pizza crust (which I use for sandwiches as well) has been invaluable to me and I refer back to this book often. I do wish it had more photos and even some narrative for each recipe but I like how it's kept simple... Simple recipes, solid foundation at a great price.

Great for beginners and experienced vegan cooks
As with anything new, it's to be expected that people will feel some trepidation. The unknown can be scary. This book encourages people to just go ahead and try this way of eating. Ms Miller confronts and explains some of the most common concerns people may have about a gluten free vegan diet. It helps to know that you can get all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs and still eat gluten free and vegan. The recipes cover a nice range of dishes and as a busy mom I appreciate the ease and short preparation times. Most of the ingredients are available in regular grocery stores too. And the recipes sound yummy. This is a great book for anyone, beginners and also experienced vegan cooks.

Found some great recipes
As a long time vegetarian and all around healthy person, I enjoy looking into other diet alternatives to continue to better my health. I found several recipes I will use; also discovered I was already eating both Vegan and Gluten-Free on a regular basis. Simple explanations and the ingredients in the recipes will make it easy to incorporate some vegan, gluten free days into my kitchen. Would love to see a gluten free vegan baking book.

No explanations of obscure ingredients
I was so looking forward to a book with recipes I didn’t have to ‘adjust’ to meet my dietary requirements. Most cook books explain their more less main stream ingredients, and I’m familiar with a lot of them (nutritional yeast, Seitan, Braggs aminos, tempeh, etc- mostly because other cookbooks have explained them well) but what the heck is ‘Rocket leaves’? Doesn’t even appear with a google search. And there’s ‘rocket sauce’- which if you google first says it’s a sauce made of human semen before saying it’s a hot sauce- pretty much any hot sauce, because when I went to amazon the choices that called themselves rocket sauce ran the gamut. This kind of ambiguity in ingredients drives me nuts.

Thank heaven I found Sophie Miller
I recently learned that I have an allergic response to both dairy products AND gluten. I looked at many cookbooks and was very disappointed. The gluten-free recipes had dairy in them and the dairy-free recipes had gluten. Thank heaven I found Sophie Miller and her vegan cook books! The recipes are absolutely delicious and easy to prepare. And I'm learning that I can actually eat and enjoy dishes that are both gluten-free and dairy-free.Sophie Miller has written several cookbooks and I bought them all. I have served the recipes past my family without mentioning they are "different". My family loves them! Thanks a million, Sophie! Your recipes are wonderful and they are helping me heal.

) °This is more like a PAMPHLET than it is a book
I just received this in the mail today -- and it is going right back.I paid $16.00-plus for a book not worth more than $5.00.Where do I begin?:°Laid out very poorly°Very thin book - see picture #1°No glossary°Only 40 recipes, and most of them AREN'T main courses, in fact I would say there are only about TEN main dishes°Page #88 surely must be a JOKE -- see picture #4 (seriously!?)°This is more like a PAMPHLET than it is a book! Again, see picture #1°See picture #5. Under "Praise for...blah, blah, blah, read the first line: "Would recommend this book to anyone HOW is thinking about...."I believe the word the illiterate who put this book together is looking for is WHO, not HOW°AND, last but not least there are twelve blank pages. TWELVE!Page #'s 4, 14, 37, 39, 49, 53, 60, 64, 70, 74, 77, 81.Total blanks. Pictures #2 and #3 are but a few examples.DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK -- I'm sorry I did.

Such a useful handy book to have with great meal ideas!!
Great menus. Really easy to prepare with everyday ingredients. No need to make a huge shopping list the night before cooking because most of the ingredients are those you'll have already. It'll be used for many years to come.
