TheraMat Mini Infrared Heating Mat - THERAMAT MINITHERAMAT MINI

I selected this pad for medical reasons. It was the right size for me. The heat feels great and extremely relaxing. I like knowing it is benefiting my immune system. The price is actually very reasonable---if you've shopped you know you can pay way more for an Infrared mat. I it 5 stars because I do love it. But I must state that I have had it replaced twice now because it stopped working with very average usage. I will further state that the seller, Balkowitsch Enterprises was fantastic at getting me a replacement. I figure it must be my bad luck because they told me on the phone they have sold hundreds of these pads thru Amazon without a problem. Go for it with confidence that it is 100% backed up.

The product works ok where it does get warm. It does do what it says where it actually heats up. There are for sure hot spots and cold spots. Some spots never even get warm. Should have splurged on the Bio Matt. You live and you learn. Also, I have not had time to contact the manufacturer.

The minimat is both a very good product because it does well what it is supposed to do, but for me is okay as I have not figured out what is the best purpose, hence the 4 stars. I checked previous reviews and can correct some misconceptions about these mats. First it heats evenly and well, just needs a blanket or two over it to insulate it to keep the heat in while it warms up, and it does need some time to warm up. It is beautifully portable, a bit flexible, moisture resistant, and is well made. It would have received 5 stars but I haven't figured out the best use for it yet, as it not the best for sleeping nor as a personal detox sauna. I have tried sleeping on it, which works okay but it needs a cushion such as a towel to smooth out the black bumps on the surface which are uncomfortable to lay on directly, but then the negative ion effect is negated. Once I figured out that it needed a towel, it worked well as a gentle heat (setting 1-2 works well) overnight. The size is reasonable, but know that the upper 7 inches or so, and lower 3 inches do not heat up so you lose heating length out of the 5 feet, leaving about 50 inches of actual heated length which is still very reasonable. I am also going to try to use it kind of like a detox sauna, but my first attempt let me know that the part that presses against the pad - the butt - feels the heat the most. I suggest facing it down to preheat it along with some blankets on top to keep in the heat (which also preheats the surface it is facing which you will be lying on) then putting it on top of you, rather than laying on it directly - at least that is what I will be trying. The way it maintains a temperature seems to be on and off, that is, that it heats full for a few seconds then off for a while, varying the heat time according to the heat setting. A good use for it might be on a massage table to keep clients warm. I would never exercise on it.

It’s a good product to use when it’s cold, but not cold enough to turn on the heat. I’ve been using different Shield Life products for years. When one wasn’t working, customer service was able to solve the problem. The product works best on firm mattresses.

use this on my massage table with a sheep skin over it...works well...unfortunately it stopped working for no apparent reason and not able to contact company
