Best I've tried
I originally posted a short review just to tell others that this brace fit me. It was my fourth attempt, but the previous three wouldn't go around my calf. Now I've had it for a week and have been using it every night.I would call the design the best for me. I have 21" (around) muscular calves. Meaning the lowest part of my calves are much narrower than the "belly" of the calf. I tried two of the night-splints that came just below my knee. Neither of those had top straps that were long enough to reach around the belly of my calf. This one I'm reviewing doesn't come up onto my calf. It touches the bottom of my calf, but the strap is below my calf. I still think the top velcro strap could be longer. Maybe just an inch or two even. As it is, I have to tug it several times to get it to secure to the other velcro, but once secure it works and stays on all night.I'll give you a quick rundown of what's going on with my feet for me to buy this. Severe pain in my heel when I step onto the floor in the morning. It's a pain I described as, "Someone sticking a 6 inch spike in my heel". It's enough that it put me back onto the bed the first few times. I was told this is a heel spur symptom and was recommended a night-splint since I also have arthritis in my ankle.I was really excited about this fitting me. The first night I wore it, I had no problems with it attaching to the sheets or any thing like that and I woke up with nearly no pain in my foot. I won't say it was completely better, but I was able to walk to the bathroom without a hesitation. Second night, I was a little frustrated because I couldn't seem to get it on my leg. So here's a tip:- If you are having any problems with getting this strapped on, make sure to leave the outer side velcro attached, but use the inside velcro to loosen it to remove it. It's much easier to re-attach the velcros on the inside than the outside (of your leg).Second night, it did move around on me a little bit. I hopped out of bed (I really did) and squinted my eye as my wife looked at me like I am crazy. It was hurting some. I figured it had something to do with me not adjusting it properly.Third night through seventh night: Figured the tip out from above. I can now put this on in less than a minute. It's working very well. I'm still adjusting the front velcro (changes angle of your foot), but I'm not having any of the sharp pain in the heel. So the performance of this brace has been excellent overall. I'll also mention, this brace is easy for me to sleep in. The longer/bulkier night-braces made it hard to sleep since I'm a side-sleeper and it's my right foot. I sleep on my right side. So my left leg sometimes lays on my right leg, with a bulky brace on the right leg, it causes my left leg to rub against the hard plastic of the bigger braces. This one I'm reviewing isn't much different than wearing a sock. The plastic piece in the front can be a little uncomfortable if you don't get it adjusted right, but even it's not that bad. Much appreciated product that I will continue to update as I use it.

Overall a good brace
I feel like these run a little small when it comes to the calf part of the brace. I wear size 8W and the SM/MED says it fits up to size 10 in women. It fits fine in the foot area, with plenty of room, but the part of the brace that goes up my calf is just barely big enough, to where I'm using just the start of the velcro. The brace sits below the widest part of my calf. That part of my calf is not very big. It would be nice to allow for more adjustment in the calf area of the brace, as calf size can vary greatly between people. As for the brace itself, it is very comfortable. It's easy to put on and adjust as necessary. I usually only have to undo the velcro in the calf area to slip it on. The padding under the hard part of the brace is soft enough so that you don't have hard material pushing against the top of your foot, and it's not super bulky like some braces. Overall it's a good brace. It works as intended, to greatly reduce my achilles tendonitis pain every morning. I gave it 4 stars simply because i wish it was more adjustable to allow for larger calves.

So far has been great - heel better in just 3 days!
I have been suffering with Achilles tendonitis for over 9 months. My friend who is a physical therapist said that I need to sleep in some type of splint at night to immobilize the tendon. I have know people who are in these big, uncomfortable plastic boots and knew there was no way I could sleep in that! I looked at all the devices available and this one seemed to be more of what I wanted. I have now slept with this brace for 3 nights. It has been comfortable and easy to sleep in and more importantly, my Achilles already feels much better! This brace is easy to adjust, is very light and seems durable and constructed well. I am a women's size 10, so wasn't sure which size to get, so I ordered the small/medium and it fits perfectly. I have very large calves and was worried about it fitting at the top. This brace sits just below the calf, which is great and it fits just fine. Would definitely buy this again, but hope I won't need another one!

Puts your foot to sleep
Extremely poorly designed. The hard plastic shell is on the top of your foot and the stretchy straps wrap around under your foot and around the calf. This means that when one tries to brace the foot in a position with the Achilles extended, the hard plastic shell puts pressure on specific points on the top of the foot and the straps dig into the fleshy parts of your feet and ankle. This reduces circulation and causes the foot to fall asleep. Really an awful product.

Not a good product for Achilles tendinitis/Poor fit
Bought this for Achilles tendinitis as a night splint. Material is comfortable, but the fit seems wrong. I ordered a sm/med as I am a woman with size 9 shoe. The bottom fit fine, but the Velcro at the top by the thigh was too tight. It needed to be longer. There was no way I was able to put this on and off with one side attached on top. I have average leg size and this top velcro needed to be longer. Was too tight and left indentations in my leg. Only people with thin legs are going to be able to slide this on and off according to directions. The bottom felt fine and was almost too big. So ordering the larger size was not an option. The Velcro by the top part of the splint needs to be longer. It was worn one night and is going back. Also there is not enough stretch with the top Velcro strap to give your foot a good stretch.

Uncomfortable
Can't keep them on all night as they are quite uncomfortable. I end up taking them off in the middle of the night.

I can walk when I wake up from Plantar Fasciitis
I am a woman's 9.5 shoe and I should have ordered the larger size in hopes the straps would be longer. The straps need an extra inch or 2 to allow a better fit. It's not just the calf, it's the strap by the toes that are stingy. Some nights I make it to the morning without noticing the tight fit, but most nights the fit is too tight. I have a callus below the big two from friction from being too tight. The concept is right, but more velcro would make it the best product for Planar Fasciitis. I am thinking all sizes could use more velcro to make all sized customers happy. I have concocted my own velcro strap to help tonight. Here's hoping it will work.
