Worth it!
I've had my 360 for a few years now and I knew about the Red Ring of Death problem but was fortunate not to have had it happen to me...that is until a few days ago. Normally I'm not into DIY mods / hacks but I figured that I'd rather spend $20 and fail then the 6-8 + $100 to send to Microsoft. The videos online made it seem easy enough and I didn't really have anything to lose.So first, I'd rate the seller 5 stars. Package was shipped pretty much immediately and I even got it a day early. Now the items themselves I give only 4 stars because aside from the screws, and washers, the only worthwhile additions are the cleaner and the Arctic compound. The XBox opener tool is kind of convenient but it's made from a soft metal so it bends really easily. The torx wrench things are okay in a pinch but if you have a torx screwdriver set it'll go faster. I noticed the provided ones kept slipping. There's no printed instructions rather an insert that points you to an online pdf but i followed an online video anyway. You'll definitely need Q-tips, and pliers. It's also not quite as easy to put the heat sinks back on. Overall though it wasn't difficult and it ended up working. Not right away, but the online pdf covers this issue so I was able to fix the problem.Definitely worth to do this fix.

Can't beat Arctic Silver, but this kit could use some refinements.
The repair kit came quickly and securely packaged. However like others have mentioned it is missing two critical tools in order to complete the repair, a small sturdy flathead screwdriver(which most people should have around anyways) and a 1/4" socket driver for the heatsink studs. The other negative is the T8 tool I received is not T8 on both sides. The long end was T8 while the short side was T9. Needless to say, trying to unscrew the T8 screws with only being able to torque with a 1 inch handle is a PITA.The PDF files for tearing it down and the other to do the repair are good enough for someone with low to moderate computer hardware skills. For anyone who doesn't know a lot about computer hardware I highly recommend the ifixit Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death Fix Kit repair guide. It contains more detailed images and instructions. As far as the Microsoft heatsinks go, they are a cheap POS. You will see a lot of excess thermal paste on both the chips and the heatsink(way more than should ever be used). The best part of this kit is it comes with Arctic Silver cleaner, purifier, and paste. In my opinion Arctic Silver is the best stuff out there. For removing the paste from the heatsinks I would use a 2" cotton round pad, and standard q-tips for the chips. With the old thermal paste globs you are going to have to slowly work it off with the cleaner, being very careful on the chips to not damage any of the surface mounted electronics. Oh, and the cleaner has a very strong citrus scent. One last thing I'd like to mention is with the supplied screws. The heads on these are a little thicker than need be, which causes them to give the motherboard a very small lift above what it should be. When I inserted the motherboard back into the case, I had to press down on the front of the board in order to get the alignment tabs and connecting peripherals to line up properly.Overall this kit is decent, big plus on the included Arctic Silver supplies(full bottles of cleaner and purifier, and a full tube of paste), but that alone can't justify anything over 3-stars from me due to the above listed.

Xbox 360 Savior
First of all I'll start out by saying that this repair kit fixed my xbox 360 like a charm. I didn't have the Rrod, but my xbox wasn't displaying video anymore, so I gave this kit a shot, and I'm glad I did.I'll start a more in depth review by reviewing the quality of the product itself first. The kit comes with all the necessary hardware to easily take apart the 360 and reinstall the heatsinks effectivly. The "official" xbox360 opening kit fits like a glove, and it holds up pretty well (the only problem I had was that the pointy part to push down the clips on the outside casing started to bend when I was done, but it still did its job well). The kit also comes with extra washers which helped me out a ton. Finally, this particular kit comes with 3 artic silver products to reapply thermal paste to the heatsinks (you may notice several different kits when you search amazon, most contain the essentials to do the x-clamp fix like the screws and washers while some contain various thermal paste). Artic Silver is probably one of the best thermal pastes on the market, so this is why I choose this kit.Installation...The installation took me about 2 hours from start to finish, and for the most part the instructions were detailed and easy to follow. I was able to do the whole installation by myself, but for some parts it would help to have an extra hand or two available - especially when reinstalling the heatsinks.- NOTE: I would recommend grounding yourself while you do this since you're working with the motherboard directly, and any electronic circuit board can be destroyed by static electricity. You can ground yourself by touching a metal object before working, also it's best to avoid carpet surfaces if you can.End Result...At first when I hooked up my 360 and turned it on it still didn't display video. I figured I'd let it run for a little bit for the thermal paste to take hold, and the heatsinks to reset onto the chips(around 10-15 minutes). I then held the power button in until it turned off. Once I turned it back on I was pleasently suprised to see the video displaying on my 360 without any errors.
