Body and chair, action and reaction, in a cycle of continuous motion that energizes and enlivens your body and mind. The Original Kneeling Chair Variable balans gives your body the freedom to find its own equilibrium which keeps your back and abdominal muscles working. Runners and shin rests promote an open and dynamic sitting position that keeps your spine in its natural curvature and improves breathing. Variable encourages your body to move and reacts to every one of its movements. While tension in back and shoulders is prevented, this 'active sitting' improves circulation and oxygen levels; thus concentration and creativity during your work. It feels wobbly and I am not a big person. The fabric is rough it itches/burns/hurst my bare skin when I wear shorts or a skirt.

A double-edged sword.
While it relieves pressure on the lower back is terribly painful on the shins.

Takes some getting used to
But after a few weeks it's the best chair for my posture. It's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I would recommend the kneeling chair especially if you ar trying to strenghen your back and core muscles.

Way over priced!
$456 for this piece is too much. You can't sit on it for long because your knees will kill you unless you just use it as an ottoman. I can't believe I paid this much for this product. Period. End.

sturdy chair. Awesome for my arthritic lower back
Well built, sturdy chair. Awesome for my arthritic lower back. As a desk jockey I spend most of my day sitting and this is an awesome way to avoid that numb butt and numb left leg. Worth every penny to me.

Worth the extra money
I have a sensitive sciatic nerve that causes me a great deal of discomfort to sit in a traditional chair. I tried the other kneeling chair that's sold on Amazon (less than $100) figuring it would be just fine. Well, I learned my lesson and then some. The cheap version felt extremely unstable and the angle of the design actually put more pressure on my nerve. None of the holes lined up exactly right during assembly and when I tightened the screws to connect the frame to the pads, the wood cracked a little. I wanted to return it to Amazon but it was such an ordeal disassembling it that I decided to just keep it and use it as kindling for our firepit outside. This "Variable Balans" is what I was hoping for all along. The difference in quality from the cheaper version is huge. From the quality of the wood frame to the padding and upholstery, this is a well-engineered product. The box came flat packed and the assembly was straightforward and relatively fast. It took me about 10-15 minutes with no tools needed besides the allen wrench that came in the box. My only negative comment would be it's a little confusing which direction to put the large seat pad when you're assembling it. Looking back, the drawing in the instructions shows there's a subtle difference in the front width and back width of the pad, but I didn't notice that the first time I looked at it. It added some confusion and extra minutes to my assembly time because I put the seat on backwards at first.Overall, I am so glad I found a kneeling chair that alleviates the pressure in my lower back. Worth the money for me!
