Can't beat it for the price!
I just received my dumbbells this morning and couldn't be happier about it!SHIPPING:I purchased the pair of dumbbells with 105 lbs of weight total. I was a little confused when Amazon told me they had shipped but never specified any dates or locations. I ordered these weights Sunday and they arrived today (Wednesday), 6 days ahead of the estimated arrival date when I had last checked the tracking. They arrived in two separate identical packages in priority mail medium flat rate boxes (tracked and insured). I guess that's how the seller got them to me so quickly and without a crazy shipping cost (I paid $109.99 for the set with free shipping). One box had a tear on one edge, but I guess that's what happens when you take advantage of flat rate boxes and stuff over 50 lbs inside them. There was no damage to the product, and they came inside another set of boxes (plus each component individually wrapped in plastic) anyway. It is apparent to me that this seller really does care about shipping!PROS:- Cast iron, not those cheap, oversized, sand-filled vinyl weights.- Nice finish - They are a glossy grey which I prefer to gaudy chrome, and it seems like the coating will hold up quite well.- Well-cut threads - The collars spin easily on the threads, hold well, and keep the weights from spinning.- No smell - I seemed to read a lot about a machining or oils smell but even from inches away I could barely smell anything, far less than the slight odor my new Gold's Gym puzzle mat.- The value - These will last far longer than the vinyl alternative and ended up being $1 per pound. And add free shipping to that! Plus you have any weight from 5 to 52.5 lbs (55+ if you only use one bar) in increments of 2.5 lbs without buying separate dumbbells for each weight you want.- Space-saver - Like I said before, you won't have to buy set after set of fixed-weight dumbbells, which not only saves money, but also space for storing the weights when not in use.- Symmetrical weights - They can be put on in either direction without any effect on looks or performance, if that's something that matters to you.CONS:- There are a few sharp edges on the ends of the threads of the bars, but for this price I think you can do a little sanding or filing yourself.- As another review pointed out, the 105 lb kit comes with 16 5's and no 10's. This makes it more difficult to add more weight than what is included in the package and makes the weights wider on the bar. HOWEVER, if you think about it, because the bar is a set length, it will always be just as wide. In addition, the 5's aren't as large in diameter as the 10's would be, so as I see it, 10's replacing some of the 5's wouldn't really make the dumbbells any smaller. Plus, if you know physics, the mass spread farther out increases the moment of inertia, making the dumbbells more stable.- The rubber o-rings do like to pop out of place a little from the handle side (inside) of the bar. HOWEVER, I don't see them coming all of the way off, and even if something were to happen to them, each box came with 4 extras (8 total). All in all, I am extremely happy I went ahead and chose to order this specific set of adjustable-weight dumbbells. It was the best deal for someone who needs something a little heavier as well as a variety of weights, but is still on a budget. These will be great for my at-home workouts. If any issues come up, I will update my review, but don't expect to hear from me anytime soon!

By far your best value for adjustable dumbbells
I did a lot of research on adjustable dumbbells before making this purchase. I recently started P90x3, and realized that even with the relatively small amount of dumbbell use in the program, by random pairs of dumbbells at home weren't going to cut it, especially further on as I hoped to move up to heavier weights. My eyes were set on the selectable dumbbells from Bowflex and PowerBlock, but as a student, I ultimately balked at the price. Since deciding on the Pro Iron set, I haven't regretted it at all.My thoughts:- The fit and finish is spectacular. I'm a big fan of rubberized dumbbells and bumper plates and such, but this is the next best thing. The chrome bar and collar and the gloss plates feel very high quality, with no noticeable blemishes at all. I haven't had a problem with any sharp edges that other reviewers mention. The rubber washers are a great idea that I've never seen before; they keep the collars really locked in place and the set comes with replacements too!- Time spent adjusting weights is really a non-issue. Even for a fast-paced workout like P90x3, if you are planning ahead and know what weights you'll need, pausing for 30-60 seconds to change out the weights a few times during the workout just isn't that big a deal. And if you're doing a more traditional gym-style workout (i.e. focused on reps and not time), it's even more of a non-issue. Just change the weights while resting between exercises.- Price point can't be beat. If you're new to buying weights, $1 per pound for new weights (of almost any sort) is just about the bottom line. The fact that you're purchasing 2 52.5 lb dumbbells at the bottom line price point is pretty sweet, but throw in that you get as part of the package every single interval at 2.5 lbs down to 5 lbs, and that's nothing short of incredible. [Note: I guess even Amazon offerings and prices can change, but when I bought them it was 2 52.5 dumbbells for $99.99 with free PRIME shipping. Yes, I got 105 lbs of weights in 2 days.]- Form factor is standard, which is great. It's worth noting that some of the selectable weights, especially PowerBlock, have pretty strange form factors. I haven't extensively used them, but I can easily imagine it feeling strange or even being difficult to do some dumbbell movements. Having a set of dumbbells that look and feel like a normal set of dumbbells is great.Look, I'm the type of person who likes having the highest end thing available. At some point I'll probably find some excuse to splurge on the Bowflex SelectTech. But I won't have a good reason to, because I already have a great set of weights in these Pro Iron Adjustable Dumbbells.

Very good product at a reasonable price
Product is as advertised. Been using daily for a month now and the nuts stay on tightly. Bar and plates have a nice finish. Look and feel sturdy.
