18-Wells Watercolor Paint Palette,Premium Moisturizing Foldable Travel Portable Folding Paint Palette Box (Black, 18-Wells)

I was apprehensive because of the lack of reviews, but I really wanted a black paint palette. SO I went for it.I used this for my Gouache paints. and I love it so far.I has done a decent job to keeping the paints moist with the seal around the edge.My one and only complaint, and my reason for only 4 stars is that the yellow gouache paint has stained the plastic mixing tray ( as shown in the pictures) But this does not effect the performance whatsoever. I actually think I am going to buy a second one for my watercolors as well!

This is a good enough palette for the money. Too bad the clip on the closure doesn't work, I use a piece of blue masking tape to hold it in the locked position when I put it away. A sturdy rubber band works, too. I don't know if it leaks, I let my watercolor paints dry before I put it away, especially any mixed colors or washes which could mess up the inside of the palette and various colors. I haven't traveled anywhere with it.Since I'm not very experienced, I wanted to use it to lay out the 18 tubed colors of a Sakura paint set that I've had for years, in order to see if I like them and use them up anyway, even if I don't.The plastic mixing area stains, but not enough to bother me. The wonky catch that doesn't keep it closed is the most annoying feature for me. Hope this is helpful.

Definitely air tight! I've had my gouache paints sealed in the pallet for two days and they're still just as creamy as fresh out of the tube! I'm going to buy two more for oil and watercolor paints!

After several years of painting with gouache/acrylic and absolutely destroying the cheap $5 palette that I have had this entire time, I figured I should probably get a new one. This one was reasonably cheap and had reasonably good reviews so I ordered it without looking too hard at the description. I was so pleasantly surprised when it arrived!First of all, it's much bigger than I expected with a lot more room to mix colors together! Since I use gouache similar to watercolor, things tend to get messy very fast and mixing takes up a lot of room. Not only were the two larger wells in the middle very spacious, but there was also a small tray in the lid that could be pulled out and used to mix paint as well. The smaller wells were very deep and had a bit of a slope to them, which I loved.Second of all, I had an issue with my last palette (and some other palettes that I had for other media) where watery paint would just bead up on the surface and not stay in one cohesive area. That issue was nonexistent with this one.Third of all, it's somewhat airtight. I was mostly just hoping for a covered palette so that my idiot cats wouldn't lick the paint or anything, but when I opened it up after almost two days my squeezed-fresh-from-the-tube-2-days-ago gouache was still workable without any excess water and the thin layer of green that I had mixed up was still visibly moist. Some drying had happened, but not much. This is a game-changer.As a side note, the materials in the palette are also very durable and high-quality. I am very impressed with it especially for the price that I paid. This thing is great!

I bought this empty palette for my M Graham paints and I'm very happy with my purchase. Way better than those cheap plastic palettes from Michaels/Blick. Kicking myself for not ordering a second one for my gouache paints.

I bought for miniatures. It works great. Heavy in a good way. With cleaning it will last a lifetime. Great size, large in a good way.

The pallet is sturdy and well made at the price point. My water colors still dried out over night but that is not a big issue. I would buy again.
