Could not connect to a network with a long password and lousy 5 GHz range
I have two networks (actually four, two each on 2.4 and 5.0 GHz). My private networks have a long password (30 chars). This device was not able to connect to either the 2.4 or 5.0 networks with the long password. I changed it to use my public network which is hosted by the same router and it was able to connect to both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz bands. However, when the unit was not in the same room as the router (I mean, that's why you buy an extender, right?), it complained about signal strength back to the router for the 5GHz band. My laptop, sitting right next to it, said 5 bars = full signal. The furthest I got the device from the router and had it still connect on 5GHz was about 20 ft, line-of-sight. Not at all useful for its job as a residential extender.I resigned to using the guest network (with the shorter password) on 2.4 GHz - not at all what I wanted - but at least the extender could connect and didn't complain about range.I downloaded the latest fw from their web site (1.0.6, March 2019) and that didn't improve things at all.Once the device is configured, you can NO LONGER get back into its interface to see things or make changes, despite what the manual says, even when your browser is on one of the device's extended networks. There's a lot about this thing I don't like but it's not worth my time to fuss with it given the price and given it appears to be working, albeit on my guest network and at 2.4GHz instead of my private network at 5GHz.

Make sure you have an outlet near your router
I switched cable companies and the new router's signal was not strong enough for my basement or upper floor office. I called the company and they said get an extender.I have no knowledge of extenders so I choose the one with good review and a reasonable price. I couldn't be happier. We did need to move some plugs around as this needs to be close to the router but once we did that and set up the password, which was a very easy process, this worked like a charm!! I went to my basement and was able to once again get my Netflix without the little timeout circle every 5-10 minutes. My office also went from the network of fair to good and I have not been timed out since installing this.Totally worth the money.

Wow - what a difference!
I admit I had a little trouble getting it set up out of the box, but that was mostly due to error on my part. Once I got it sorted out it worked great. And I mean really great - the router is in the master bedroom on one side of the house and I put this extender as far away as I could get a good signal. Now we have >fast< wifi speeds through the whole house, no joke. As I am typing this, I'm over 30' from the master bedroom with several walls in between - this was a part of the house where we had little or no signal before. I'm logged into the extender and it is working flawlessly. Note the signal LED on the front of the unit - this is a first and it is a huge help. You can really see very plainly how far it can go before it suffers from signal degradation. I think I want to order another one to extend wifi out to the yard!

Excellent product, works as expected!
My wife asked me to move a television to the opposite end of our house from the wireless router. Although the TV worked fine with a digital antenna, the wifi signal from our router was too weak to watch programs from Amazon and others without a lot of buffering. I selected the Prescitech AC1200 WiFi Range Extender based upon positive customer feedback and seller's product description / literature. As someone else mentioned, I also struggled a little to get the device configured correctly but the issue was all mine and not anything with the instructions or the device. Once I got it configured correctly it has worked seamlessly and my wife is a happy lady. I'm glad that I chose this product.Update to my review. We started to have some buffering issues with the Roku and I had do try to figure out why. Turns out that by changing the wireless channel on our router, I was able to get a stronger signal to the extender and eliminated the buffering. Apparently, too many of my neighbors were using the same channel as our router and by identifying a "quieter" channel that helped boost the strength of our wireless.
