Dirty Jobs Collection Five

Dirty Jobs is a fantastic show: equal parts education and entertainment, host Mike Rowe is always willing to get dirty with the men and women who make our world continue to function. Collection five is one of my favorite sets (and I have them all) as it spans a huge number of careers ranging from the disgustingly filthy ("Diaper Cleaner"), to the horrifyingly creepy ("Spider Pharmer"), to the outright terrifying "High-Rise Window Washer").As always with a Dirty Jobs set, some of the jobs are pretty predictably awful ("Tar Pit Technician") while others sneak up on you with some horrendous characteristic that you hadn't probably thought much about. On this set for my money the most mentally challenging job would be "Animal Renderer", while by far the scariest job would be in beautiful Hawaii: "High-Rise Window Washer". Rarely has a television show made me literally anxious, but washing windows on a skyscraper definitely did it for me. (That first step is a doozy. You will also learn the painful reason why window washers have short hair.) Some of my favorite moments in this set came from "Toilet Crusher" and "Mattress Recycler", two nasty jobs featuring some of the nicest people you can imagine.This is a great set from Mike Rowe and the Dirty Jobs crew, and I recommend it to everyone.

I'm a huge fan of Dirty Jobs, and of Mike Rowe, so my review and rating will obviously reflect that. If I really had to find something to critique, it would be how Discovery Channel has handled making seasons of Dirty Jobs available (or not.) This is a "collection," meaning that you don't actually get all the episodes of Season 5. Also, it seems that they sometimes mix episodes from different seasons for their collections. And some seasons are just flat-out not available on disc. All this is mostly just an FWP (first-world problem) for those of us who love this show.I'm so glad that Discovery has decided to resume this show here in 2022!!!

Great show, disc one works perfect. Second one does not. Could only watch 4/6 of the shows. Thought it maybe our new player, but on our other dvds works perfect, then switched back same issue. It happens I guess. Just disappointing

I bought this thinking it’d be fun- was horrified when I read the episode descriptions on the back. There is an episode about the making of foie gras- a process which involves horrible cruelty to ducks. I returned it without opening it. Yuck.

Same episodes as in the season packages. Wish they would include episode lists and season numbers in the description. Other than that, love Dirty Jobs. Mike Rowe is the best.

I started my “dirty jobs” collection years ago. I’m thankful that amazon still carries dvd’s Great entertainment!

I love this show I was trying to find collection 5 for a while now and sure enough I found it and it was super cheap compared to the other collections

The order came in on time and all in good condition. I'm a fan of the show so of course it's a good buy for me. One of the best things I can say is that this is the best price you'll find. The series is gone so it's hard to find these shows at a good price.

The DVD doesn’t play on computers only on DVD players.
