Powerful and great sounding speakers little speakers that looks great!
Extremely fast shipping to Japan, less than a week. Box is a little banged up but security seals have not been tempered and the speakers are burning in slowly. Listening to all sorts of music from my little work office and my verdict is that these are great for most music that do not have heavy bass.Sound has a strong center stage when positioned correctly and they are quite loud for a small work space. I must admit, the price is more for the aesthetics than the sound itself since I have heard far better speakers but given the space constraints of my work office, this pair of speakers fit right it with the small footprint. The speakers are very well made and the simplicity of the design, make these speakers a great keeper. Will definitely need a separate woofer for the extra bass but that is out of the question for now.Overall, very satisfied with the product

Decent Desktop speakers for the price
I am picky, and I am enjoying them. The sound is fairly neutral and balanced with a hint of warmth. Bass is deep and fast, might sound bass-light or thin if you don't put them against a wall though. Myself isn't putting them against the wall, I apply a bit of bass boost, to bring up the warmth and bass resonance a bit. Mid to high are detailed and smooth, not harsh sounding at all. They are really balanced, no obvious bumps anywhere in the spectrum. It might not be treasure for bass lovers, mid lovers, or high lovers, but give it to any one of them, they would say it sounds pretty good. Balanced.Comparing to Bose Companion 2, C2 has more mid-bass emphasis (dsp effect, I believe), slower and not as deep bass, less fluid mid and high. Their dsp(digital sound processing, if I remember correctly) also seems to bump up certain frequencies mid-high to make vocal sounds clearer. Treble is good for movies, clearer dialogue . When it comes to music (with more treble in the mix than movies), it makes them sounds noisy and fatiguing. Overall I wouldn't get them if you are a music lover. Same applies to Companion 20, but deeper bass and more bass (I believe they would be awesome for movies, gaming).Definitive Technology Incline, a small dip in treble, small mid-bass bump. Less clarity (due to their two-way speaker design? one in the front, one in the back, in order to have better imaging?). The biggest problem of it to me was the constant background hiss, despite of volume level, same background hiss, starting as the power is on.Didn't try audioengines my self, based on my research, a2+ is bass light. a5+ prolly sounds better, but larger, no headphone out, bluetooth, usb in.TO GET THE BEST SOUND OUT OF THE LISTEN, I stack them higher on my desk to point them closer at my head, difference is obvious, better imaging. If they make them higher or angled, it would save me the trouble to find a appliable base, but in this way, they left room for adjustment.Update: the boosted bass can shake my table, amazing, dsp isnt killing bass unless very very loudI JUST FOUND A FLAW OF THIS SPEAKERS, after a while I thought there is a dip around vocal, midrange. I thought it was just that I am a mid-head, after the doing some measurement, I find out that there is a dip around 600hz, and eqing +2 on 500hz, does make the mids sound clearer and creespier, honestly a lot of audio device has this kind of v-shape sounding, it is the sound of the trend, like beats etc. But as a mid lover I know I am moving on. However, no doubt that they are good for the price. I might need to move up to the a5+ for better midrange, but the connectivity is so poor on that one, guess I will just have to cope with it.

I like it, sound is great. Better than some other brands out there.

I returned them.
Nice sound, but kept randomly switching from bluetooth to the wired input. I returned them.

Great! But pricey.
I love everything about these speakers, though the price can be a bit hard to swallow.

Outstanding sound and value
Excellent value, outstanding sound, remote control is a nice addition. Additionally, like the touch controls, as well as the design which compliments my iMac perfectly.

Beautiful, sturdy speakers
Very nice speakers. I hooked them up to my office computer using the Bluetooth dongle. The only problem is remembering to turn the speakers on when I start the computer. I actually plan to attached my wired speakers again and move the Simple Audio speakers to a space someplace behind my desk.

I bought these speakers elsewhere in a group buy. Saved a fair bit of money, which was important because I didn't believe it was possible for desk speakers costing nearly 300$ to be worth the money.I WAS WRONG.Now most of the speakers I have owned have been cheap with regards to the components. A home stereo that looked really cool and had USB back when USB 2.0 was new, Logitech speakers that were special because they actually allowed for 5.1 using three 2.5mm jacks which was also rare, etc. So I have never owned really good speakers, so if you have these might not impress you as much as they did me.But these speakers impress the hell out of me. First, for the lack of subwoofer that I no longer miss. I get more useful thump out of these than I did with the subwoofer in my Logitech Z-2300s. As I type this the bass from the music I'm listening to is vibrating through my hands on the desk and I can still hear the thump when I roam the house. But I bought these specifically because I wanted to watch Netflix without pissing off my neighbors. The bass shows up at the volume I want and goes away when it should. Listening to music or dialogue also impresses, as the stereo imaging and audio reproduction is impressive. It probably isn't audiophile quality, but while you could pick on these for accuracy you can't say they ever sound bad. I can't tell when a doorbell on Netflix is not real. My music is faithfully reproduced whether its a poorly recorded garage band, hardcore metal song, a billboard 100 hit, classical piano song, or a korean pop song. The details I usually only hear with headphones come out of these and still surprise me and I've owned them for months. For the money there might be better speakers, but I doubt there are better ones at this size, but their size belies their sound so perhaps they prove that size is not something to pay attention to.
