Very much dislike the price, but it’s well worth it. These are the best gauges you can get. If I had a $400 or less grill/smoker, it wouldn’t be worth it. Unfortunately I have thousands invested into grills and smokers, they all have teltru gauges on them. You can see the temp just fine at night with these

I have had Tel-Tru thermometers on several of my smokers and they are always the most accurate and good looking units in the market but these are simply the best. The lume of the gauge face is really bright and easy to read at night and the color just looks so good on the smoker during the day. I would highly recommend these Tel-Tru thermometers.

Bought a couple Tel Tru BQ300's very accurate and easy to read. Glows in the dark as advertised.. Highest recommendations for the product and their customer service. Will continue to do business with this company.

As many other here have noted this thermometer works perfectly. It is larger than I expected, so it is easy to read and the glow-in-the-dark face really helps at night. This is a very accurate measuring tool. I tested it with boiling water and it registered 212° F. I am using this with my new Old Country B-B-Q Pit offset smoker. I put it in one of the pre-drilled holes near the firebox end of the cooking chamber. I may drill another hole near the chimney on the opposite end and add a second one. That way I know the temperature across the whole cooking area.

Since I like to cook (as opposed to knocking off some burgers or a couple of steaks) on my gas grill, and knew the OEM thermometers were junk, I went looking. I found this product (and its siblings at St. Louis BBQ) as the only replacement dial thermometer worth getting. Others have attested to its accuracy, so I'll cover some other aspects.One of the pages I read at Amazon had the phrase "fits most grills." It does not. For example, the Weber Spirit line of gas grills, surely one of the most common among consumer-grade grills, has a 3/8" hole for the OEM thermometer. This product requires a 7/8" hole, as explained on other Amazon pages. No worries, I bought a "step drill bit" at Harbor Freight that, in less than 30 seconds, enlarged the hole to the required size. (What good is a project if it does not require a new tool?). Then installation went fine, and it works.Do not buy the recommended accessory installation kit--the two little pieces should be included, hence the missing star. Take your new thermometer to a real hardware store, buy one stainless steel washer, a little thick, that just fits over the threaded portion, and one stainless nut to fit the threads. Put the washer on the outside of the grill cover, and wrench the nut tight on the inside (but don't overtighten). Depending on the nut, you might want a second washer for the inside.

This thermometer works perfect and looks fantastic. It does glow in the dark for a limited time, but not all night. It keeps absolutely perfect temperature. I’m happy to have it
