They look good, dry fast, durable. Old timers at the beach will tell you about their old birdwells they got as a kid. Everyone says they run small and they do. I ordered one size up and still have to leave the top loops undone. I'll be getting a second pair soon just because I like them that much.

Great shorts!! Run small. Normall wear a 33/34 in brand name board shorts with a loose fit. Bought 33 and the bottom stitch in the waist is super tight. Gonna purchase them again in another color but will purchase a size 35

These shorts came without one of the fly buttons, a real pain.

Had a hard time figuring out what size and length to get. I am a 5'5" 200 lb woman. My waist is 38-40.My inseam is 29- 30 inches. I bought the 42 mens short ( think its 310)they fit perfect and fall just right above my knee. Hope that helps. They are well made and worth the money.Aready see another pair I want. Cant wait to wear them paddle boarding.

My third pair of Birdwell Britches. I prefer the ones with stretch, but they didn’t have them in size/color I wanted. If you’ve never worn these before, order up at least one size. They’ve gotten a little better over the years, but I still needed to order a 35 when I usually wear a 33 or 34 at the most.

I wanted a different kind of swimsuit. I wanted one without the built in briefs. I'm a boxer guy. I usually don't buy board shorts due to their length. I'm 5'6" and traditional length ones are just too long on me. When I ran across these, I was intrigued. After reading reviews and doing research I decided to give them a try. I was not disappointed. The short ones are just right for me. They are very comfortable, almost like wearing boxers. Being used to swimsuits with elastic waistbands and drawstrings they did take a little getting used to. They ride more on the hips than the waist. They are so comfortable I found myself frequently checking to make sure they were still on, until I got used to them. On our recent beach trip they worked out great, I loved them.

Overall great customer service from Birdwell. My first pair was received and were missing the eyelet holes for tying up the shorts - somehow they go through quality control that way. But they quickly shipped me a new pair. After reading several reviews about the size being larger than typical I ordered down one size but found them too small. So I requested my usual size for the replacement pair and while they fit great they are more snug than any similar size shorts I own. Overall great fit and quality; I really like that they are above the knee and not baggy at all. I would consider buying a second pair.
