Penguins of Madagascar [Blu-ray]

We rented this for our son. We all got a kick out of it. He watched 3x in one day.

This is my kid's favorite movie. I don't mind watching it with him since it has a good amount of jokes that only the parents would understand. A little boring for me in the end but my child is always entertained.

Thank goodness the movie my child has decided to watch on repeat is this one.I love a good animated film. In recent years they have been hit and miss to me. This movie I didn’t see until long after it was out (primarily because I wasn’t a huge fan of the Madagascar series) boy was I missing out. This film is comedic genius. The simplicity of the humor is amazing and shows that true comedy can be done at a PG level. The most simple details have so much though put into them. The sheer brilliance of having them break into Fort Knox to use a vending machine, and then pay for their purchase. The scene of them crossing the crosswalk is just amazing.The story is simple kind of… an angry Octopus is kidnapping all of the penguins for his dastardly plan. The penguins (from the Madagascar movies) have to foil his evil plot. They also encounter “the North Wind” which is apparently another group of covert special agents also trying to foil the evil plan.I cannot rave about this movie enough, and thanks to my 3 year old I have seen it in excess of 1000 times.

Not sure who likes this movie more, the adults or the kids. It's a lot of fun. If there is any chance you haven't seen it yet, good lord do it now!

Another reason to love Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private (as well as Mort and King Julian who gave cameo appearances). I love the villain Dave. I will try to give a review without giving anything away. These are the penguins that stole the whole Madagascar film and do they deserve to be on the big screen. We all look forward to seeing them in the Madagascar movies and end up missing them when they are gone. This time, you get them for a little less than 2 hours and if you are not yet a penguin fan, you will be at the end of this movie. It has heart without getting too sappy. It was funny without being ridiculous. They went for the cute factor without going overboard candy sweet (rolls eyes). My whole family loves it. It is a movie that simply entertains no matter what gender or age you are. I am taking away a star because I can see some characters not really essential to the plot. Yes the Northwind characters need more meat but that is me nit picking. Nonetheless, I recommend highly for your whole family's entertainment popcorn or no popcorn.

難しい言葉をあまり使っていないので、英語字幕をつければほとんど分かります^_^見たかったPenguin Shake も特典として入っていたし、その他の特典もたくさんあって買ってよかった〜と思いました。輸入版でしばらく買うか買わないか戸惑いましたが本当にオススメです。先日日本語版の公開and発売が発表されましたが、テレビ版The Penguins of Madagascarが大好きな私にとって日本語吹き替えのコワルスキーとリコの声が違うと聞き、こちらを買っておいてよかったと思いました。到着時紙の外箱が少し破れていたことが残念でしたが、プラスチックケースと本体には傷一つありませんでした。

This movie, with its hilarious dialogues, multi-layered wisecracks, puns, and slam-bang action, totally blew me away. Unlike the overall Madagascar franchise, I found this one to be more focused, more action-oriented, and more rich in terms of voice-talents as well. Highly Recommended.
