Inspirational Gardens Through the Seasons

I did not know what sort of book I was expecting when I ordered this book.It is chock full of wonderful photos showing National Trust Gardens through the seasons.Most of the photos are delightful, however, a few show some blurriness and disappoint, especiallythe photo on page 54.The reasonable price for this new book is marvelous. The low points to me is that the English appear to befollowing the Americans by not using botanical names in the depicted photos, just common names, which I findvery distracting on an educational value and also when visiting nurseries. I found the print quite light in colour, where as a stronger black ink would assist older eyes to read.Buy the book, you will definitely not be disappointed.

Nice enough book, pretty pictures but I wouldn't consider it "Inspirational" at all. The plant descriptions leave a lot to be desired ie it's OK calling something "dittany" (dictamnus) but why not put the Latin name in brackets afterwards as "dittany" covers a lot of plants. The whole book kind of "misses the mark", not up to National Trust standards that's for sure!

Brought as a Christmas present my daughter was. Wry pleased with the gift, photos are fab, gardens are well illustrated all the way through the seasons which helps with planning your own garden which maybe smaller but very good ideas.
