Dowdle Jigsaw Puzzle - Raining Cats and Dogs - 500 Piece

Dowdle puzzles are very hard which I love! This one was difficult and so beautiful that I hated putting it back in the box.

Love the detail in Dowdle puzzles. Dogs and cats in falling in various twisted ways. Plenty to look at after you finish the puzzle.

The image was blurry, hard to distinguish things other than colors.I didn’t love the non-traditional shapes.Many shapes were tough to get to stay together if only two, we needed 3-5 to make a clump stay which made it difficult.The worst was the picture difference on inside paper versus box cover. It caused a lot of confusion. (See images)

I don’t want to return this puzzle

We love the bright, detailed pictures and the pieces fit together nicely.

My husband and I completed this puzzle with our 9 year old daughter’s help over the course of 4 or 5 days of off-and-on puzzling. For what it’s worth, I’m now needing to use reading glasses with a 1.75 magnification when I’m looking at my iphone AND it was our first 500 -piece puzzle, so do take my opinions with a grain of salt.Pros:Good quality ( not as high as Ravensburger, but still absolutely solid)No missing piecesReally sturdy, nice storage boxFun, whimsical subjectIts full of repetitive, fine details ( like the brick work, window trim, and building siding) as well as *not* repetitive, but tiny, hard to distinguish animal body parts and faces ( a tiny paw here, a tiny hairy tail there...)I guess this makes the puzzle challenging, but I found myself going to the basement for a desk light, doing a lot of squinting and a little bit of complaining. ;-) That said, I’m back on amazon looking for another puzzle so I guess I’m hooked.All in all, I think If you like the whimsical subject matter and doing 500 piece puzzles, you can’t go wrong purchasing this puzzle.

Just finished this puzzle. It took about 5 hours and really fun. Every little animal is cute. The pieces are unique and smooth and easy to put together because of the two toned buildings. Children about 5-6 might help sort the colors out. It can turn out to be a family activity.

She said it was fun to put together.
