The colors are great, BUT... When I added water to the dry cakes it took over 45 min for the crust on the cakes to soften. Then, when the hard top crust finally became workable my brush broke thru to a half empty jar. It was as if there was a large air pocket in each little paint pot over which a crust had formed. The pots were no more than half full. Also somehow a larger size pot had been included...You can see by the pictures that all the paint pots had air pockets of various sizes. The crust on the larger green pot just broke right thru with a little pressure and really never properly "dissolved" with water. It was as if there was too much binding in the paint formula and once it dried in the pot it was not readily soluble with water.

The photo is deceptive. I was hoping to have one palette with multiple colors as pictured. In fact, each color comes in individual glass containers with a lid. THat's a lot of twisting and many lids to manage when painting with the whole assortment.

I have only used the Twinkling H2O's, and cannot speak more highly about the richness of their colors--I absolutely get lost in the glorious shimmer and the mesmerizing colors. Since playing with "twinks", I have become obsessed with color, and it is all because of Twinkling H2O's.I am completely self-taught, a card-maker, and I do believe that my work looks better than my ability when I use ColorArte's Twinkling H2O's. I look forward to taking a class and learning to do more with these unbelievably beautiful shimmering paints. The shimmer is so tasteful, and the shimmer ENHANCES the color, it does not take away from the color like some inferior glitter products. Once you try these glorious paints, you too will NEED to have as many colors as you can find!!!Note that these paints come in 2 sizes, a mini size and a larger pan, and are available in individual colors or sets--so you can put together the exact palette that meets your specifications. But be warned, you will want more and more of these gorgeous colors! I find that I am drawn to colors that I didn't even like in the past when I'm using my Twinkling H2O's!!!I recently purchased the newest colors in Twinkling H2O's and also bought some of their newest product, Radiant Gels dimensional paint, as well as some of their pure pigment shimmery powders, Perfect Elements, so that I can create my own paints with their clear glaze medium. Looking forward to playing and seeing what I can create. I have complete confidence in ColourArte's products after my completely positive experience with Twinkling H2O's.Twinkling H2O's are so versatile, for they are artist quality and will satisfy the most discriminating demands of any artist, yet they are completely suitable for children to use to paint. You can't go wrong with the primary colors set. If you have never tried these versatile shimmering watercolor paints, you must add them to your toolbox of basics. They are my go to paints.
