I have the Stanley Wet/Dry Vacuum SL18115, 5 Gallon 4HP Shop Vacuum, and the black foam filter ripped when trying to take it off when wet and dirty. Got this one on one-day Prime delivery. It fits perfectly. Just slide it carefully on, and then slide on the black plastic ring that holds it on. I like to also put over it a Women's Plus Size Knee High nylon stocking, which is so cheap that I can throw it away after each use. Mostly I pick up wet debris. For dust and dry things I use the paper vacuum bags. So, yes, this is the foam filter that fits, and that works, and it comes quickly. Just what I needed.

Perfect fit for my older 5 gal Shop Vac.

I use this foam sleeve filter for my small Stinger Vacuum which is a 2.5 gallon, 1.75-Peak HP, wet/dry vacuum. Although I use these foam sleeve filters for wet pick-up, but in addition, I use these same filters for dry pick up too. They form a tight seal that prevents dry dirt and debris from blowing out the vacuum vent, and they last much longer than the traditional thin cloth and/or paper filters that come with either a retaining clamp or an elasticized band.These foam filters form a very snug and tight fit, and since the foam is only ½” thick when I need to put a new one on I have to tug it up, so-very-carefully. Otherwise my fingers will rip right through the foam sleeve. However after about 4-6 days, the foam sleeve loosens up a bit, and when I remove it to shake it off, brush it down or to vacuum off the debris it does get easier to put back in place.Although, I love what I do during the day, it’s very messy work, and my stinger vacuum is always in constant use on a daily basis. Therefore, I need a filter that has some durability and will not wear out as fast as the cloth ones do. In addition, unlike the cloth filters, when these filters become too dirty or thickly filled with dusty residue, I can wash these filters for reuse. It takes just a minute with dish detergent and water, and since the foam is a thin and light fabric, it dries very fast or a couple minutes in our clothes dryer and they are bone dry, and perform as well as new.I use a little bit of care and gentle handling with the thin foam fabric, and therefore, these foam filters last me between 6 to 7 months before they develop holes and start ripping apart. In addition, replacing them twice a year is a whole lot cheaper than replacing the paper or the cloth ones at least once a week.

This foam vacuum filter works great. It fit my 20+ year old,1 HP/1 Gal. Shop Vac (model 500x) perfectly. These filters are supposed to be for liquid pickup, but I use them, along with the blue paper filters, for extra filtering. This works great for picking up fine dust like sawdust and sheetrock, without blowing it all back out the exhaust vent. The filters are also easily washable. I would have given this filter 5 stars, but I was shorted 1 filter in my order, so I dropped 1 star. The listing specifically states that this is a "2 pack." From reading the reviews, I can see that a lot of other purchasers of this item were also shorted 1 filter. You would think that Amazon would fix the quantity in this listing, after reading most of the reviewers stating that they were shorted a filter. However, I can still recommend the filter, based on performance alone.

Had no issues putting this on my old vac. Fit the same way as my old one I replaced. Good to change these every now and then.

That means more suction, but probably reduced life for your Shop Vac because water and dust can get through to the motor (and back into the air you are breathing) -- if used without a paper disk filter over the foam.> If you want to WET/DRY Vacuum -- USE THIS FOAM FILTER WITH A PAPER DISK FILTER.> If you want to WET-VAC ONLY -- If you only want to suck up wet messes (w/o a paper filter) you should probably look for a denser foam filter (and use it WITHOUT a paper disk filter).> If you want to DRY-VAC ONLY -- If you are only going to suck up dry debris, you should buy a PLEATED paper filters.> Do NOT use a foam filter with a pleated filter -- that would work for DRY vacuuming (only) but the unnecessary foam filter would reduce the suction.
