Royal Knife Best Vegetable Peeler- Pro Peeler, Razor Sharp Ceramic Vegetable Peeler

My husband can't quit talking about how great this vegetable peeler is!

I got tired of fighting with my standard potato peeler. It was a struggle to use from the 1st day of purchase. So I decided to check out trusty Amazon and search helpful customer reviews for "something better". Sure enough, something new caught my eye... ceramic. I finally selected this brand for price, color, description - including the grip and sanitary design, and Prime shipping.The grip is good, the blade is sharp, it peels well, although the peels do stay in the blade more than I'd like. My biggest issue, and the reason for the review is the color. When it arrived, I never even removed it from its clear package, instead I headed straight to my computer to start the return process. Unfortunately, when I pulled up my order page to make absolutely certain I did not accidentally order the orange one I discovered they don't offer orange.Realizing the color was just a very sad red, I unwrapped it and am using it. However, as the color choice was a large reason for choosing this brand over the many available I felt a review would be useful to others. The product works. I like the upgrade from metal, just like I like the upgrade of glass over plastic or wood for cutting boards (btw, good tip for glass cutting boards.. check shipping dimensions on product information. The .5 inch is much better than the .3 inch for quality. IMO). I'm just disappointed in the color.As monitors are bad for assuring color shades I am attaching a picture of a peeled carrot, a nicely thin peel, and the decidedly carrot colored peeler.

This ceramic peeler is extremely sharp and does a great job peeling cucumbers, carrots and potatoes. The handle is comfortable and non-slip (I received a yellow one), and I like that it's dishwasher-safe, rustproof and never needs sharpening. If I'd never found my beloved Rada vegetable peeler, this one would be my favorite. The main difference, other than comparing Rada/stainless to Royal/ceramic, is that this peeler tends to get blocked by the peelings more often. It's not enough to be a real nuisance, but it happens more than I like.I give this peeler a solid four stars for being sharp and effective with a great grip.
