My husband just took this on it's of many international trips and he loves it! It seems durable as he's rough on bags. The water resistance has yet to be tested, but it seems like the right material for that. It has more pockets than we realized! When I was helping him pack we kept finding more pockets! I have to admit, I'm a little jealous and might have to get one for myself. It holds a crazy amount of stuff. I don't think it was full after all his work stuff, laptop and accessories, giant headphones ect.... he also really likes the usb port on the outside for the extra battery. Really can't say enough good things about this backpack so far.
