McCormick Gourmet Organic Black Sesame Seed, 1.87 oz

Black sesame seeds add an exotic touch to any dish in which white sesame seeds would be appropriate. (I tend to use a mixture of both.) I was delighted to run across these at Amazon. I ordered several bottles and have already used up one jar. The seeds are good quality.The secret to using black sesame seeds is to add just enough and not too much. Most dishes that include sesame seeds are enhanced by adding a small amount of black sesame seeds -- in addition to the white ones. The flavor difference is subtle, yet enticing.

I believe this is a high quality product. However, I soon learned that I cannot take it as it keeps my diverticulitis constantly flared up.

Black sesame seeds are one of the world's healthiest foods. Just a small serving has significant amounts of Vitamin B12, copper, manganese, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, fiber and more. Just be aware the calories are very high. Most people will use just a small sprinkle once per day in their food. As for this specific brand, I have no complaints. They shake out nicely and taste just like any quality black sesame seeds I have ever had.

Great flavor! It was the first time I had purchased the black. I used it to make my homemade version of Tahini and then I took to create a dairy free Lemon Sauce. Everyone loved and could not believe that it was a dairy free lemon sauce!

Perfect for sushi making. When I roll inside-out sushi (rice on the outside), I sprinkle these & toasted sesame seeds on the rice before I flip the nori wrap over.
