Flypaper
I thought the movie was very funny and fast moving. Patrick Dempsey and Ashley Judd had great chemistry and the supporting cast members were hilarious. Patrick Dempsey is really an exceptional comedic actor as well as a gorgeous man..be still my heart! I don't know why the critics downed the movie. I will purchase it for my dvd library.

Flypaper--funny,clever with a delightful twist
This movie is hysterical, laugh out loud funny. It will always make you laugh no matter how many times you have watched it. Flypaper features a great cast who work wonderfully with each other. You think you know whats going on and whats going to happen and then it goes sideways and just keeps getting crazier. It is a fabulous comedy heist movie with some clever twists and turns and some very interesting characters who just when you think you have got them figured out they turn around and do something else. Not to mention,at the same time, it seems that there just might be someone else in the bank looking to take out the bad guys. Not exactly a kid friendly movie as there is gun violence, implied sexual situations, and lots of cursing and f-bombs. Think PG 13. Everybody should see this at least once because if nothing else it will give you a good laugh. Again I have to admit that my primary reason for buying Flypaper is actor Matt Ryan. Love his work and this movie does not disappoint,

An unexpected story within a heist flick
Flypaper is a heist comedy. It begins when two different groups trying to rob the same bank. They end up shooting at each other until a customer played by Patrick Dempsey tries to mediate between them. This obviously leads to a comedy of errors and captures what the story will be like. The movie actually ends up going in an unexpected direction. After that the cast really stands out. It includes Ashley Judd, Octavia Spencer, Tim Blake Nelson, Mekhi Phifer, Jeffrey Tambor, Curtis Armstrong, Pruit Taylor Vince, Rob Huebel, and Adrian Martinez. Each one gets their little moment or two. It all makes for an enjoyable film.

Confusing...
I'm not sure how effective my review will be as I'm still trying to figure out exactly what happened at the end there...not the very, very end, but the climatic battle...who was who and what and where and how? Also, despite the finger pointing at pretty much everyone, I think a cameraman managed to avoid suspicion. Anyway, this film where two gangs of bank robbers meet up literally in the middle of a job has its laughs and Ashley Jud...the second reason being why I watched it in the first place. However, if it was trying to achieve a classification of "mystery thriller" or something like that, it didn't make it. Like I said, I'm still trying to figure out the ending. But more importantly, I'm not losing any sleep over this lack of knowledge, meaning I got everything I could out of this film the first time around. I will compliment Tim Blake Nelson and Pruitt Taylor Vince as the bumbling, redneck bank robbers who have no comprehension of what they are doing (they have guns so I'm using big words so they don't realize I'm degrading their felonious work...God only knows what could go wrong if they try to seek retribution for my negative assessment.) Sadly, I think such idiotic bank robbers actually do exist and I'd love to know what event in life inspired this piece of "art". Other than that, this film has Ashley Jud and a lot of finger pointing and accusations as to who the mastermind behind this God-awful day at a bank is...it really doesn't have much more. I have seen a number of Patrick Dempsey films because other actors I like are in them, but he didn't grab me in this film. I'm not sure if his OCD performance was supposed to be funny...it was just weird but it only came off as weird and somewhat creepy. Anyway, I will only recommend this film if you want to watch a "thriller" with a convoluted plot and if you're able to sleep without fully understanding the ending to said convoluted plot. Enjoy.

Loved this movie. The writing is fabulous.
Loved this movie. The writing is fabulous. Very intricate plot, full of twists and turns that make sense (unlike other movies that have twists and turns that do not add up). The cast and acting were wonderful.I had this movie on a DVD that had several movies. Liked it so much I watched it again and then I bought this Amazon copy for a friend. Amazon rocks!

Sometimes the best films are ones you know nothing about
All the way through Flypaper I couldn't help but think of another film - Botched. I knew nothing about it before I saw it and only watched it because there was nothing else. It was one of the most amusingly entertainingly silly films I've seen - until now.I also didn't know anything about Flypaper, but watched it anyway. Like Botched, it's about a bank robbery that goes wrong. This time, two sets of gangs try to rob a bank. That, in itself, is a recipe for disaster. However, the hostages are a bunch of misfits and there might even be a deeper conspiracy going on here.I'm not going to say too much about it as I don't want to give anything away. All I'll say is that Flypaper has more humour than most comedies. More twists than most thrillers and a better story than most high-budget blockbusters (oh, and it does all that with less famous faces than the majority of Hollywood's output).Flypaper is not to be taken seriously. It certainly doesn't set out to be so. It is, however, a great chuckle. A rare and cheap gem among faceless giants of films.

What a pleasant surprise
I did not expect much from this one. Just a film to get Patrick Dempsey's movie career going but also something to relax to without any efforts. I was wrong. This turned out to be a very funny comedy. It takes some time for me to warm up to a film like this but I was laughing almost all through it all. The Crooks were just perfect and hilarious and Patrick did a great job. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to have a relaxing two hours.PS: Don't worry about the language in this one. Compared to other comedies coming out of the US (or real life) this one was strictly Sunday Church School.

Excellent Movie.
This is a movie that I have watched multiple times before and after purchasing this DVD. The movie features Patrick Dempsey who can tell things that are out of place. Overall a good movie with a surprise(ish) ending. Loved the actors who play Peanutbutter & Jelly.
