MagniPros Ultra Slim & Lightweight Book Light Led Page Magnifier-Large Viewing Area Magnifies up to 300%

I have Age-Related Macular Degeneration and the small font in printed books is increasingly difficult to see. Whenever possible, I try to read e-books, because the font size can be increased on my tablet. But sometimes, a hard copy is the only thing available. I've looked at lots of very expensive desk magnifiers marketed specifically for people with low vision, near-blindness, etc. But before investing in one of those for $200-$500 (other desktop models can run into the thousands!), I thought I'd give this little magnifier one last try.It works very well!!! PLUS... And this is really a MAJOR PLUS... Quite by accident, I stumbled onto an additional use that surprised even me! Since I also have trouble seeing the light blue fonts used for content on a lot of websites, including this one). I discovered this magnifier works well when held up to my 17" laptop screen, so I can now view the pale blue text/content very easily. That alone is worth the purchase. In fact, I may buy a second one just to keep near my PC, and keep one with me to read menues in dimly lit restaurants, etc.(I carry a large purse!0It's light and portable, unlike the desktop versions which can run into thousands of dollars.

Shipping Speed was fantastic! Magnier works as described. The 2 issues I had was that 1. it's not quite as slim as they make it out it to be.I do enjoy the light feature but that makes at least a portion of it bulky with the batteries and stuff - I don't think it's small enough to be a bookmark. Since I wasn't planning on using it this way - that didn't bother me. However problem #2 - I'm sure the exact dimensions are in the description - but I'm more visual - so looking at the picture - it appeared to cover a whole page (like 8/11 1/2) normal size letter. It's actually about 1/2 that size or a little bigger - but not much. I still gave it a 4 because it functions well and I was partly to blame for not looking into the details and specifications as I probably should have. But I still the picture is misleading.

Not sure if worth to return, it would just to cost me more money. It got here ahead of the due date by 4 days. So shipping, GREAT!!! A+ But I got this product because it lights up. It did.... for all of 5 seconds, and also had scratches on the magnifier. So product D- if not F. Should have gotten the one that was a size of a sheet of paper. It didn't light up, but it was $6 cheaper.

This is a great little book light that fits over the page of a book, illuminates it and also magnifies it. It fits a hardback book page well, but can be used with any size book. It's very thin, has a thin switch to turn on the lighting and has a frame around it that is a little thicker than the book light itself. It was a good investment for me instead of the ones that are just a regular magnifying glass with a single light. This one has several small lights along the edge that light the whole page and weighs very little. I've used it as a bookmark on occasion, too.

Purchased for my aunt who has macular degeneration. I visited her and got the opportunity to see how well it worked. Im sorry to say it was not helpful and she stopped trying to use it soon after it arrived. Difficult to hold at the optimum distance for magnification but that distance did not work well with the lights. Was disappointed

It is lightweight, can double as a bookmark but not the best magnifier due to material that has "wavy" lines, not easy to get the clear view for reading (I had to keep moving it in and out and up or down), and the light kept going off so I would tap it on the book so it would come back on. Wish I had returned it. It is borderline okay.

I got this as a Christmas present for my 93 year old Dad. He is deaf; so he depends on reading to know what is happening in the world, but he now has "wrinkled retinas" so his vision is a little blurry and he cannot read normal size print in magazines and newspapers. Since he started using the ultra slim MagniPros he continually raves about how much it is helping him. He loves it! He has told me "thank you" many times over.

This magnifier has a light that dims on its own. Probably there is a problem with the switch. If you lay it down on the page it does not magnify the print. You need to hold it away from the page to enlarge the print. It really is not wide enough to cover the width of the page.
