Works far better than expected!
Firstly, I bought this as an ‘Amazon warehouse with minor scratches/damage to outer packaging deal price’. Packaging was completely trashed and held together with brown tape but the crepe maker was intact and had no damage whatsoever! Amazon warehouse deals are great 👍Crepe maker itself is far better than expected. It’s easy to use, hot, adjustable heat and easy to clean. Perfect for my tween/teen children to use themselves. It’s tricky to get an even complete crepe like at the markets, but I’m sure with time we will master the technique.Recipe book is probably the biggest disappointment. So many ways you can use this crepe maker so we have bought a separate book.

Ok but did I really need this?
Eager for some reason to buy this as they always look great on the box. Tried as soon as it came and must admit it takes awhile to get the hang of using the wooden spatula thingy. Impressive looking but has it been out of the box since. I’ll leave you to decide.

Fab. Transform your crepe making!
My daughter loves pancakes (crepes if you prefer), I've done them in standard pans and stovetop crepe pans, previously assuming that a product like this was unlikely to be any better and probably a bit rubbish at the price.Wrong!Part of the difficulty with crepes is getting the right temperature and the correct thickness of your crepe, really hard with a stovetop. With a machine like this you have thermostat control which, whilst not perfect, makes a much better job of keeping your temperature consistent than you can hope to achieve on your hob. Spreading the batter out on the large flat surface is also way easier, though still needs some technique. The supplied wooden spreader is surprisingly good.Recommended purchase if you have the space to store.

O My Goodness! A real LIFE-SAVER for persons with gluten/wheat allergies!!!
I am in love with this pancake-maker from the reputable Breville. But where can I begin with the gushing?!First of all, I'm new to flipping pancakes in an ordinary pan, and using this makes it extremely easy. Because - 1. you can control the temperature (I set mine to 3.5); 2. you don't even need butter or fat and the pancakes DON'T stick; 2. after just one minute you easily flip over the pancake for another one minute, so it's fast; 3. I used the Italian crepe recipe in the included recipe booklet and measured out between 90-100 ml for each pancake in a glass jug; 4. method, I poured from the jug very quickly, beginning from the edge, swirling to the centre, QUICKNESS is the key!; 5. be FAST. use the included wooded stick thing to, in one movement, 'sweep' the batter liquid to one side, and then, to the other (straight back and forth, 1, 2), then carefully but quickly sweep the stick round in circular fashion in one go to include any edge bits missing, then also the other bits missing. Don't worry about the odd 'lacey' hole.Ideally have a preheated oven which will have a warmed plate on which to stack the pancakes.Don't touch the heated surface, it gets very hot.The included recipe booklet includes many types of crepes. The Breville crepe maker is the easiest thing to clean. After cooling down, I wipe with 2 bits of wetted (not soggy) kitchen roll. Don't forget the sides of the maker where the glorious pancake batter escapes. Now onto the 'free from' thing. Due to a wheat intolerance flare up I've now had to obviously cut out wheat. That includes ordinary flour, but, for those who don't know, you can buy wheat free or gluten free flour, including self-raising flour. This makes my food shop that bit cheaper, because baking from scratch saves a lot of money on bread, cakes, biscuits, etc. Ordinary flour is 4-5 x cheaper, but buying the free from flour reduces spending on the commercial free from foods. So when the rest of the family are having a sandwich, I make myself something better, a wheat free pancake. Although there is a problem because the rest of the family see the pancakes and then they want a couple. This is my only quibble. (You could always lock yourself up in the kitchen and eat there). This review was written in earnestness and the product was bought with my own money. (At the time of my purchase a little over £26 - best money spent!).EDIT 02.03.19: From my review I've removed the Breville website because although they advertise on the crepe packaging that the site contains tips and recipes, I however, DIDN'T FIND ANY despite extensive searching.I forgot to mention... I find a flexible and thin heat resistant plastic spatula best for handling the crepes (not one of those hard rigid ones).

a good provider of nice food limited by your imagination
i have always thought of this type of machine as belonging in the crepperie in france where the dab hand knocks out the pancakes to order with the flair of a stage performer.so i naturally thought anything of a cheaper nature would be gimmicky and not worthy of the pancakes my family yearned for. i have spent an occasional hour or two leaning over our range with an iron pan, the stench of hot oil on my clothes and face reddened with the heat creating the perfect pancakes for the demanding gluttonous teenagers that only depart their bedrooms for food, drink or occasional shower.so whilst locked down like most of the world i decided to have a go and bought this appliance. unpacked, cleaned it was time to have a go in the wee hours just in case i failed. for family reasons i had to stick to a certain recipe but there are some supplied with the appliance which are easy to follow. it was hard at first to achieve the full size even pancake i knew i had to create. the dowel type of spatula used to even out the mix on the hot plate by spinning on a central point took at least six pancakes until i managed to create an even product that filled the hot plate. flipping it was easy using the wooden pallet knife. all in all i had twenty pancakes in a relatively short period stacked on a plate, no profanities used, no sweating over the range, saving on gas and very few dishes to wash. i tried an indian bread but more practice required until i master that but at the price of this product and the ease of use it is an appliance that stays on the worktop ready for rapid use. just cant believe i never bought one sooner, i was worried that i would not be able to use it for no reason and the kids love the finished products

Love this!
I was given this as a gift and it’s brilliant. Making crepes is so quick and easy. I’m not particularly skilled with the wooden spreader tool that comes with it but can usually make some sort of circular looking crepe. It cooks so fast and cleans with a quick wipe over with a paper towel. I’ve also been using it to make omelettes. Again gets to heat very quickly and it makes an omelette in a couple of mins. Great bit of kit and while the diameter is quite large it’s not very tall so I store mine on the top of my kitchen cupboard
