Sturdy
There was no interior cut out template. also there was not an easily discovered install video as well several of the competitors brand. Havingsaid it was a painless install. I am a novice handyman at best and had little trouble. I also have two rambunctious dogs that often hit the dog door either accelerating rapidly if not full throttle. The door (2 weeks) in is securely attached still. There is no obvious leaking around the seams as to efficiency. We also have had several blowing Tstroms lately. I have not had any trouble with the flaps blowing or leaking. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great overall
I really like this doggy door, it is very sturdy and the double flat make it better for the winter. I have two dogs, a yorkie terrier and a mixed chihuahua (bigger than your average chihuahua). So the yorkie who is younger, smaller and with a little more energy had no problem with the double flaps, as soon as the door was installed he swished in and out. On the other hand my other do who is a bit over weight, with heart problems and a bit older had a tough time understanding she had to push through both flaps. Seemed they were on the heavy side for her. So we've been trying to teach her with some treats for a few days and as I write this review she's used the doggy door all by herself. Extremely satisfied with it.*added note, bought a second one for another door because I liked it so much. Very strong but easy for my dogs to use.

Tale (tail) of Two Flaps
Initially, I purchased this dog door for the dual flaps and aluminum construction, especially the aluminum security door for evening use. However, the flaps quickly succumbed to tearing out at the screw holes as there was no reinforcement on the tops of the flaps and the screws simply were inserted through the plastic. Not a great design. After both doors were damaged in this way, the only way I could repair them was to cut off the damaged part at the top and insert the screws through the shortened flaps. Not ideal as they didn't reach the bottom of the opening, letting heat and insects inside our home. I thought about trying to make something to reinforce the flaps and reinstall them or purchase other types of clear flexible plastic to replace the flaps, but ended up purchasing replacements from Extreme Dog Fence. To my delight, the replacement flaps had metal reinforcement at the top to eliminate the tearing issue. In addition, they included a right angle screwdriver to remove the old Phillips screws and a right angle Allen wrench to install the new Allen head screws. This solved another issue as it was difficult to screw in the old screws with a screwdriver while holding the flap open.Long story short, I'm happy with the replacement flaps and happy the company recognized and rectified the design flaw. The new flaps work great and should last much longer than the originals. I just hate this design issue wasn't anticipated sooner.

Durable
I purchased this doggie door in July of 2020. I was very pleased with it as other brands I had bought and failed within a few months. However, at 11 months, the flaps on this door failed. I emailed the manufacturer. They said that the flaps were not covered under warranty because it was considered a consumable product much like tires or windshield wipers on a car. However, they told me that during the period when I purchased my dog door they had some defective flaps ener the assembly process and they didn't realize it. They shipped me the new flaps for my dog door at no charge for the flaps or the shipping. In less than a week my doggie door was like new again. I like a company that stands behind their product. I have two dogs that use the door a Scottish terrier and a West Highland Terrier. Together the two of them must use that door 15 or 20 times a day. When they're excited and barking at something they hit that doggie door at full throttle. It has really stood up much better than the three brands I bought before. All of them failed within three or four months. One of them came completely apart.

I'm warning you guys/gals...
Bought this door, in Feb 2020. Waited until May to install because of reasons. It's March 3rd 2021 and the SECOND flap broke off with minimal use from my dogs (too lazy to go outside when I'm home, so I mean that it had minimal use). The issue is a major major major design flaw. Like a 'what were they thinking?' level of design flaw. The vinyl door flaps are BARELY I mean BARELY on the doors. As in, the holes at the top of the door are like a few millimeters, maybe an eighth of an inch away from the edge. So what happens? They tear through of course. Then the door falls down crooked and breaks off the other two holes per flap.Seriously we had this less than a year installed and it's just stunningly bad design. I might take pictures later, but I'm back on the hunt for a dog door now that this thing is broken completely. Yay me... $$ wasted but more importantly time wasted. Major buyer's remorse.

Great Product - Great Seller - HIghly Flexible Product
Large SizeI originally ordered with medium for two 35 lb dogs - a soft coated wheaten terrier and a longish terrier mix shaped more like a Beagle. My wife and I felt the opening was a just too small so we didn’t install it and the seller was nice enough to accept a return and let us order the larger one. It worked out great. The two flaps were too much for our dogs to push though so we removed one of the flaps. We live in a temperate climate SF Bay Area so cold air is not really a problem. Insulation is excellent even with only one flap installed. Overall very satisfied.

Meh for the money
Had hoped this would be energy efficient as we had l have multiple little dogs and winters here are cold. My husband is an engineer so he was able to install. Easy for him, but would have been far more challenging for me. The door flaps worked great for about a year. Then the magnets started to slip. Read another review that recommended super glue to keep them in place on the flaps so hubby fixed that. Last fall the flaps started to stick open which meant much higher heating bills. So basically it lasted almost two years with a minor fix. Price is a bit steep to justify purchasing again so I'm back to researching for a replacement that is more reasonably priced.
