Best lasting winches i have ever found.
I have bought many of these LT series winches over many years and every one of them still work. Many of them went on customers machines that are constantly being abused on there farm. I still have my first one that has sat outside for about 10 years now year around never been covered that still works. These by far out live any other name brand winch. Super winches Customer service was so great in answering my questions that was more technical then anyone ever really ask. One important question i had asked was about there ratings. These LT series winches are rated to lift there rated lbs on the first wrap where there lower series do not and most other brands will not lift there rating either. Most winch ratings are based on a rolling weight up a slope not lifting and most other brands will not answer the details of how they got the rating like Super winch did.The only down sides i see is the switches are not any better then most other brands and the circuit breaker that comes with it has everything exposed. It is nice they at least send a circuit breaker with the winch where most other brands don't but to use it i have had to become creative in either covering it or mounting it in a location nothing touches. A little Tip for ya if you use the circuit breaker put it on the ground side so at least if the exposed part touches ground it don't short anything. It normally comes packaged with a red wire attached i just unbolt the red and use it on the ground side. With all of that said these will stay my first choice every time i need a winch or a customer asks for a winch.

Great Wench For The Price
Much cheaper than the leading brand. It does the trick.

An Excellent Winch.
Excellent winch. I used it the first day it was installed on my 15' AC Prowler 700 XT to pull a roof on a Clear Span building. Not a single problem, and the winch did not strain at all. Good installation instructions. It lined up perfectly with the mounting holes for the factory option Warn, for you Arctic Cat owners. Why you would spend 5x the cost of this for a different brand winch is beyond me. Awesome product!Update: 1/26/17: Have been stuck many times, buried to the frame, and this thing has pulled me out no problem every time, including up very steep creek banks. I also have a plow that I raise and lower with this, and so far so good, no problems.

Just needed a replacement for my old Gorilla winch
Old one finally busted the plastic gears (second time) and since rebuilding it is sort of a PITA, and almost as expensive, just got another one. I really was tempted to try to get a steel cord type nylon one to see if it would keep the cable from kinking/building up on the spool, since I use this mostly for a snow plow blade and it only goes in/out like 5 ft for most use and eventually wraps weird and pinches...pretty sure that is what busted the old one twice.

Excellent, but needs better install instructions
It had the perfectly placed bolt-mount pattern as described and matched up with the mount I had to use. I had everything I needed but the installation instructions could have been clearer, especially toward the end when I needed to connect to the ignition wiring. Most of these UTVs as it turns out have at least 1 pre-installed female bullet connector (my RZR had 2) just for this purpose. Luckily I did a quick web search before I cut into the factory harness! I love the winch and everything works great.

First impressions
I purchased the 4000lb model with synthetic rope. It was “used” (open box but not previously installed) for $200. I decided on a super winch mainly because of the good reviews. I didn’t want to get a no-name brand and risk an issue when I actually needed it.This is mounted on a KFI winch mount and installed in a 2021 Yamaha Kodiak 700.I am currently doing the install now. There are a few things I don’t like so far.The biggest issue I have is with the circuit breaker. There is no insulation on the buss bars. This is a fire hazard. The directions state to wrap the entire thing in electrical tape, but that is a hack way of doing the install. It’s putting a bandaid on superwinch’s crappy design. There should be something to make sure it is isolated from short circuit. I was going to encapsulate the breaker assy in stycast 2651, but I decided to buy a resettable breaker that is in a sealed housing. The next issue I have is with the mounting bolts. The bolts that mount the winch to the mount are 30mm long. The depth of the hole in the winch is 21mm, the plate is 4mm thick. That leaves an excess of 5mm. The thickness of a lock washer and flat washer stacked is 3.78mm. That is still an excess of over 1mm (directions do not say to use both washers). If you go to tighten the bolts and don’t realize you’re bottomed on the inside of the winch housing, you risk cracking the metal base. Rather than stack washers, I will grind the threads and chase the threads with a die.The last thing I didn’t like is the clutch knob being plastic. That’s not really a big deal, but it’s just cheap. The relay is fairly large. The mounting bracket is too short to make the span on my winch plate. I had to make a mounting plate that could hold the relay and mount to my winch plate.Overall it is a decent kit. Probably on par with a harbor freight winch.I will update this review after the install is complete.

Easy install, can handle well over 4000lb
I bought this for my Polaris 570 over a year ago. Have pulled logs close to 7000lb a few times. It has worked flawlessly and I'm still on the original rope after getting it muddy several times. The install (with the proper mounting bracket) was a breeze. It took about an hour and a half, but I'm not good at the electrical parts of installs. Couldn't be happier with the product, even if I'd paid considerably more.

Superwinch (1140220) Black 12 VDC LT4000ATV Winch - 4000 lb. Load Capacity
For me, most electrical installations, especially those requiring up and down movement, are difficult. Since I didn't have the time or the energy to install myself, I paid my UTV mechanic to do it. The winch itself is as advertised and somebody with the patience, tools and ability to get and up and down off of the floor will be ok. Good winch.
