Light Source
The product is as the seller discribed and the price was great. The product is absolutely great and I never had any problems with the product or the seller. I would buy from this seller again in the future and product was worth every penny I spent on it. Thanks a Million times over.

Outstanding
Quite a detailed presentation of the various aspects of forensic photography using UV, IR, and narrow band sources. The author has done an excellent job of introducing the topic a well as providing details of procedures and equipment needed to implement them. Excellent book.

Very good basic informations
Very good basic informations about UV and IR photography - well written and easy to read. But the pictures in this print on demand edition are black and white only, although the text refers to colours in the pictures. Therfore only 4 stars.

Very useful
This is a great book with instructions on how to photograph a variety of items under different light settings. I will definitely be using this as a resource frequently.

The Best to-date
I am have over 35 years in law enforcement experience and I have been looking for a class or text book that explains forensic light sources. I went thru a 2 week course of photography at the FBI Academy, where there was a brief exposure to alternate light sources. I have read every article that I could find on-line. I purchased two ALS's (Lumalite and Omniprint) on Ebay and have experimented with and have used them. While looking a comprehensive text or class, aside from my own experimentation, the only possible answer to-date has been this text. The authors of "Alternate Light Source Imaging," wrote a fantastic book! They explain the physics, distinctions, and examples of reflected, absorbed, refracted, Fluorescence, and Luminescence. However, they show examples of, but do not explain the processes of each and every method with enough detail. For example, they cite a "CSS" light source (Which means"Crime Scene Search". a setting of the "Crimescope.) without revealing the wavelengths of the light source. In some parts, they specify the colored filter is used, such as Tiffen 15 or 16, or YA2, while in others pages, they mention the filter color, such a "orange," without any qualitative specificity of the filter. OVERALL, this is an excellent book and the best that I have yet to find.

but the description of the principles is good and well written
A short book, but one of the few texts to cover UV imaging in any detail. Some of the details are dated now, as camera technology moves so quickly, but the description of the principles is good and well written.

Decent book
For its compact size, it holds a good deal of valuable information. Has a lot of basic light theory suitable for perhaps an intermediate or advanced beginner. I was hoping for a more advanced technical / practical manual, but it was a decent read just the same.

A good resource for those interested in the subject.
