It won't perform miracles, but it works. Highly recommended. A lot of thought went into this.
Very well built and thought-out.• The diamond rod has a short groove, for sharpening tips, like fishing hooks and sewing needles.• The flat diamond file is held shut with a magnet.• The magnet can hold the item's weight, but not on smooth surfaces.• The finger grooves are textured, for more traction.• The bottom part has rubber inlays, to improve stability when using the V sharpeners.Below I compare it to Smith's Pocket Pal sharpener.• It is larger, so it does take up more space and weight, but is also easier to hold and operate.• Includes double-sided flat diamond sharpener.• Added features to improve performance (rubber inlays and textured finger grooves).Thoughts:I immediately liked it. I do not mind it being bulkier than the Pocket Pal, since its added features make up for it. It is very well executed and works. Thanks to the flat diamond part, you have more options when sharpening. Note that this is will not replace a "proper" method of sharpening, like a sharpening wheel, nor will it be as effective. Still, you can't take a wheel with you. That's where this comes in. It's small enough to go in a toolbox or pouch, so you can maintain your blades on the go. It won't perform miracles, but it works.About the magnet:It holds the flat diamond file very well. It is also just strong enough to hold the item's weight, but the sides are smooth plastic, so if, for example, you stick it on a fridge door, it will slide down. However, you can stick a small piece of traction tape or rubber on the side. The traction will eliminate slippage, and the item will stay put. I don't see storing it on my fridge, but it would be another welcome feature. They already have the magnet there. And they have rubber inlays on the bottom of it. Another little piece of rubber on the side of the magnet, and there. You've got another awesome feature. In any case, it is an easy fix, if you do want to be able to stick it on vertical ferrous surfaces.Photos:Comparing it with the Pocket Pal and an AA battery.

A ton of material for a pathetic edge.
I got this to attempt to be lazy with my EDC. I usually sharpen all my blades with a higher priced, more time consuming sharpener. But wanted something I can keep my cheap EDC sharpish quick and easy. What a waste of time and money. First tested it on an old neglected folder. And it takes off a ton of visible material. Took a while to get it to a visible edge, but ran it through the fine end and still unable to cut paper. I then made the mistake of giving this thing the benefit of the doubt and ran my EDC through it. A non neglected blade with about a 3 week old edge on it RUINED. Worse edge that what it started with. Just spent the last hour on a better sharpener to bring it back. I'm not saying it wont bring a completely dull knife to an edge that will be able to gnaw through a piece of paper. It does that great. But what a worthless sharpener.

Puts a quick working edge on your knife
The carbide blade pull-through really cuts away metal when new. Be careful to avoid "dishing" the edge back toward the knife's handle. I wouldn't use it on a very expensive knife, but I use it all the time on my everyday kitchen knives. If used carefully, you can re-contour a battered edge on an outdoor knife prior to use of a stone.

Small Tool, Big Function
Given the size of this tool, it has great functionality! I was initially only shopping for something simpler, but this was in the right price range and allows so much more to be done.

Versatile, easy to use, pocket size and well designed sharpening tool
This is my favorite small sharpener, it beats all my larger stones in versatility and ease of use. The flat diamond rod is my favorite feature because it is wonderful for sharpening any shape blade (like re-curves) with a few very light passes. The diamond rods take the work out of sharpening, and I find it is easier to maintain the angle than with my bulky stones Even though it is slightly larger than the Lansky the Accusharp is more versatile. Ergonomic, good control when sharpening, pocket size and inexpensive. It makes a good field sharpener for camping trips.

Handy and works!
I have a few different brands of this type sharpener and so far I like this one the best. It’s very easy to take apart to change the position of the ceramic “sticks” or to clean them. It is a little pricey but being able to change positions of the little rods make it worth the price I think.

Accusharp 028C 4-in-1 Knife and Tool Sharpener, Blaze Orange
Accusharp 028C 4-in-1 Knife and Tool Sharpener is pocket-sized although much larger than a similar sharpener by Smith's. The Smith's sharpener has fewer features but is better sized for carry. I like this style of sharpener for edge touch-up when I'm carving. It's also good as a follow-up gift to a pocket knife. There's no substitute for a sharp knife.

Neat little tool with a number of uses when it comes to sharpening cutlery, scissors and even the blades for my box cutter...got several in both black and orange, the orange is for when I'm outdoors and get clumsy, the orange is easier to spot on the ground in the woods...
