MstrSktch HB Lead Refills for 2mm Mechanical Pencil | Drawing Supplies for Sketching & Shading | 2 Pk, 12 Leads Each

I am an architect and an artist. I began learning both professions using 2mm Staedtler Mars 2mm “clutch” pencils. (At times, I would use another brand, but it was rare. Often, if I’d forget my supplies I’d use one of the extras the professor or teacher would have in his desk-Alvin, Faber-Castell, etc) While I have used various standard “mechanical“ click pencils over the years. There are benefits to them that I do like. Ever Sharp pencil leads, for one. But, I just don’t like refilling those little slim leads into those pencils! Anyway, using a 2mm pencil is a completely different experience. My design work flows and I enjoy the feel of them in my hand. I’m literally using 2 right now which are over 30 years old. They rarely lose their value for those who love them. Whether designing architecturally or creating art, the versatility of the 2mm is rarely beaten. Now, with that background, you will see that my comments regarding the ”MstrSktch 4H HB 5B Lead Refills” are based on years of experience & usage. The Lead refills have not changed over the years - except the cost AND availability. Back to the brand of choice: for years, I typically purchased Staedtler refills (or one of the other 2mm Brand refills (they ALLLL FIT EACH OTHER, shhhh!.) But, they were ALL VERY EXPENSIVE! As a beginning student, I was young and broke. It would take all I had to purchase certain supplies. But, over the years that has changed. Thank God! So, current day: I was working away on a deadline project. Went to refill my 2 mm pencils & found out I didn’t have ANY! Well, I jumped online and slam! I was bombarded with so many different brands! It was crazy confusing! I needed the refills fast. But, I’m very particular about my supplies..I had not had to purchase refill leads for 15 years! I was stocked up on them & they lasted. (I think I rcvd some as gifts also, not sure) regardless, I reviewed ALL the products on Amazon, read ALL the reviews, weighed complaints, facts, experience, finally I reviews the cost. Wonderful! But, with that, I still could not simply find a grouping of the various lead sizes (weights, numbers, whatever ppl call them these days) After taking what seemed hours, I finally found these! Great price, sampling of all the leads types, reviews that mattered were balanced & very good. I purchased them. They came so quickly that I was in shock, but I did not complain. No, I jump right in, refilled my 2mm pencils, tested them out-VERY nice! VERY happy-got carried away with sketching that took a few hours until my wife reminded me of what my REAL need was & I dove right I to my project! I will continue to purchase these. I will not wait until I’m in a pinch. These will become stock. The company is nice and their other products will need to be used in order to give a valued review. But, if the products are anywhere near the quality as the lead refills, I’m in! Now, I can’t find a reasonable SKETCH PAD anywhere! This is my next search and find project!

Great product

These are perfect for my Faber Castel Tk-9400 clutch pencil. It's graphite. You know what to expect. Excellent value.The carrying case just makes it better. The cover slips off as smoothly as can be, but it's also held firmly in place when closed. The sticks are easy to remove.

They break a lot at least with my sharpener. I just have to be really careful it’s my second purchase tho… I find they work good enough after sharpening

Soft lead is wonderful, but 0.5mm breaks so easily. 2mm is perfect.

I bought this pack of lead after glancing at the 5 star reviews. When I got the package, first thing I noticed was little bits and pieces of lead snapped off inside the case. I didn't mind losing a few millimeters of lead so I tried them out in a Staedtler Mars Technico 2mm lead holder. When I started to sharpen the lead using the Staedtler 502 Mars Rotary lead pointer, pieces of lead would just snap off. I could not get anywhere close to a pointed tip before the lead would break.I point out the products I used with the lead to note the fact that I am not using some cheap no-name lead holder and sharpener. These are among the most well used lead holder and sharpeners around.I've used Staedtler brand HB and 2B lead and have zero issues whatsoever with pieces of lead breaking. The quality of this lead is downright attrocious.The MstrSktch 5B lead is definitely not worth the money. Don't be like me and trust all of these "Vine" reviews. I guess I'm the only sucker on here who actually paid retail price for this product. I'd ship it back but it's not worth my time or effort. Stay FAR away from this product.
