JB Popular Cased Bible (Jerusalem Bible)

Seller listed this as un marked pages, which is NOT the case. Red pencil has been used to underline passages, especially in the New Testament. Almost impossible to erase without damaging pages or text.

Bought this as an addition to my library of Bibles. Am currently about halfway through reading it simultaneously with another version I've not read yet. Can't always agree with the rendering, but reading this way does make you think.

Jerusalem Bible-Jr (Bible Jb)  This is not the full version with notes and comments. Another edition could be cheaper and might have a more readable text. The text is photocopied and could be crisper and with a little larger font.

I ordered this Bible after my daughter 'borrowed' mine. My Jerusalem Bible had come from her grandfather and there was a family connection. I know from that Bible that this edition includes the history of the Macabees and and a number of wonderful features. Unfortunately, the edition that I got, while delivered promptly and in excellent condition, has smaller print than I am used to. Library, computer, and genealogy work are hard on the eyes - an occupational hazard. Most of what I read is on Kindle when possible in order to have the larger print. The print in this edition is too small for me to read. I will most likely have to trade it to my daughter who has perfect eyesight.

I was very pleased with the condition of this bible, it was near perfect which considering its age was saying something. It was to fill a specific Christmas request and I was struggling to find this at an price in our gift giving range and this bible was perfect.

Bought for my Mum.This is the standard Bible text for the Catholic Church, used for readings during Mass and for study groups.As an Anglican who read Theology at Bimingham Uni, I have an older, far more bulky, copy in my collection of 5 international versions. I will be upgrading as this is a far better sized copy.

Bought to replace a copy I lost years ago exactly the same as I remember lovely copy

Seems like a good translation, but I don't like the small text this version offers. Too small even for me. If you don't mind this however, then I'm sure you'll like it.That being said, be prepared for a dynamic equivalence type translation. It's not a translation everyone will like, especially conservative Christians. But for what it is, it's okay. Not for me unfortunately.
