Easy to install and bright...
I had an 8" incandescent light previously installed in my ceiling that had to come out due to a pest infestation, and there was no way to salvage that light. I decided on this one. I had to make a template out cardboard for this light. I traced the outline of the light onto the cardboard and subtracted 1/2" from each edge (Actually, I just took 1" inch of 2 sides, but you do what's easier for you to understand). This new light was very easy to install and took no time to do it. It is bright, looks great and can be put on a dimmer. Very happy with how it all came together. I may end up replacing another light with another one of these since I now know it was worth the money and installation was simple. FYI: When the light was delivered, a shipping label was simply slapped on the outside of the light box itself. The box is that thin, cheap cardboard and doesn't seem to offer much protection. It was not damaged though, so I can't complain. I'm just letting you know that the box it comes in looks like cheap fireworks packaging and it may not be protected by an outer box.

1 year later, still working flawlessly
I replaced 3 lights in the same room with these on a dimmer switch last summer. One year later, no complaints at all. Never flickers. All 3 dim consistent with each other. Goes from very dim to very bright. Included box to place in the ceiling for wiring. The springs hold up the light well. Great product.

The best recessed Lights
These are the best LED recessed lights i’ve ever purchased. I replaced several old outdated square lights with these LED lights. They were incredibly easy to install. You don’t need a base can to install them. They fit snug and easily right into the sheet rock. I used a pigtail socket adapter and just had to screw that into where the previous light was and then the light fixture snapped right in snugly to the sheetrock cutout. The lights are very bright but also dimmable so you can have as much or as little light as desired. I’ve installed recessed lights on other occasions and had to get into the attic and install base cans. If you have an existing light you want to replace and don’t have easy access to the attic, this is your solution. They are slim and stylish, look great and very easy to install. Great product except the 8 inch square panels are not available at the moment and i need several more.

5 star breakdown- happy
This is a nice light! Here is why I like it:1) comes with a junction box. Inside junction box are nice push in connectors. Easy to use, safe, and to code.2) light seems built well including strong springs to keep it tight to ceiling.3) light is thin and I was able to install directly under a 2x6 with in fitting in the space created by the drywall removal.4) The light is extremely bright. It is replacing a 100 watt bulb and there is no comparison. I was going to install 3 but went with 2 after seeing the light output, and now am going to install a dimmer to tame it a bit.5) the light is very even and wide. I installed in a very short ceiling (7 foot) and was concerned. But the light filled the area very well. Much much much better than the 8” square can light I was replacing.6) the only two things I can’t speak to are it’s dimming and longevity. I will be dimming it so and will know that part soon. And only time will tell how it holds up. As for now I am extremely happy and will be ordering a few more to replace the 8” square cans in the basement.

bright and easy to install
I installed 8 of these for a customer and they are a pretty good design. As another customer wrote, they come with junction boxes which makes installation much easier and code compliant. The reason I took a star off was because the connector between the light and the junction boxes on several of them were distorted and made it extremely difficult to connect. I used a pair of pliers to make the female piece round again, but it seemed that the plastic would crack if I wasn't careful. Other than this, these worked great and were a great way to upgrade the old square recessed lights.Since I was changing these in a location that didn't have attic access, I was very restricted in my assembly options. I was able to mostly dismantle the old light fixtures leaving the original junction box. The original wiring had 2 sets of 12/3 romex in each junction box so I could not relocate them into the junction box of these new fixtures because these junction boxes are way too small, so I had to leave the original junction box in place. I connected an 18" piece of romex to between the junction box of the original recessed light and the junction box of the new light so that the cord of the new light would easily reach to the new fixture. This made all of the connections properly contained as well as accessible as is required by code. Good luck.

A great replacement for an older fixture
Instructions were a bit sparse, but usable. Easy to install if you have any electrical experience. Please note this is VERY bright!

Bright Lighting
15 years ago my husband and I purchased a house built in the early 1950's. Either there were no or very few building codes governing house building that were enforced at the time because NOTHING is built to anything remotely resembling code or building standards! I coined a statement early in this process, "If we measure or check something and our results are plumb or square we KNOW we measured wrongly!" It has been a very real challenge to transform this quaint cottage into something that is safe and resembles a nice home! There is NO system or component that we have not touched in some way, and most in major rip out and rebuild ways!We ordered these specific light fixtures to install in a challenging area. They needed to be slimline and of a specific size. These did come the closest to our exact specifications and close enough so that my husband could fabricate around them to make them usable. We are pleased with them and the bright light that they give is quite good in an area where we had no lights. Thus far they have proven to be a good product to meet our needs!
